[ Arya peers at them in question before doing as Zelos says. She blinks. ]

Hello? [ She tests them and giggles at the muffled sound. ] Say something!

[wilder]

[he chuckles]

Hello my little wolf. Can you hear me?

[persequor]

No! [ Okay she does, but only just so it counts as a no. She tugs one free of her ear. When the sound returns as normal, she puts it back in.

After a bit more playing with them, she hands them back. ]

[wilder]

[And he looks very amused as he takes them back]

I take it they work fine then.

[persequor]

For me. You need more help.

[wilder]

Heh, probably. But who knows if there's anything like that out there.

[persequor]

[ wait until christmas ]

I guess there wouldn't be here. [ Looking around, she remembers something she'd been meaning to ask. ] Has there ever been a change to your world? Besides the dreams.

I'm just curious. Do you miss it a lot?

When I'm not thinking about it...or I feel glad I got less to worry about here.

And you know, when I'm spending time with friends here. [He'll poke lightly at her side]

[persequor]

[ She squirms away with a small smile and a quiet "No!" Straightening, she looks up at him. ]

If we find the way back to our worlds, all of us, can I go with you to Meltokio?

[ She plunges on in an attempt to forestall the argument. ]

I'll be good. I promise I'll be good. I'd do all my lessons and I'll learn to dance and sing and sew. And I'll marry whoever you tell me to and I won't spit in his face either or anything and I'll give him a lot of sons and I'll be a good wife and I'll never do anything to dishonor you.

[wilder]

[STARES]

[there's a long pause as he tries to sort through all that]

[Finally he opts to kneel down in front her, putting a hand on her shoulder]

I know things are different from where you're from, but you will never ask me to find you someone to marry again. Nor will you expect me to want you to "have lots of sons and be a good wife". I hate that kind of mindset.

You want to have lots of sons and be a good wife of someone of your choosing? That's fine, if you want that. Don't ever drag me into it making that choice for you.

[wilder]

As for coming to Meltokio, if there's a way...

[His voice softens from the stern tone]

Well, I'll be busy and probably not around much, but...if you don't mind that, I'd be fine with it.

[persequor]

I wasn't— [ The argument dies abruptly. Not like she wanted to do any of those things. Except the last one. But last one's a given. ]

I'm not, I mean, I don't mind being left alone sometimes. [ It's the idea of "always" she doesn't like. Also never actually alone. Nymeria is so coming with. ] I still get to see you.

[wilder]

Heh...yeah. You would. Whenever I'm in town.

[persequor]

[ She smiles. ]

I'd be happy with that.

[wilder]

The mansion could stand some livening up, it gets too quiet. I think you'd have no problem doing that.
