[It's Tuesday, Paradisa, and that means two things: the first is that The Four Seasons Room is in beach mode, and the second is that Mistress's dulcet tones are ringing through the journal. She seems genuinely pleased.]

This beach is marvelous. We don't have shores like this in my kingdom, where everything is bright and warm and pleasant. Even if one journeys to the ocean itself, the waters are rough and the beaches are rocky. Tell me, subjects, are places like this common in other worlds? Do people really live there?

Oh, and do feel free to join me here!

[Which is something you may or may not actually want. Because what does a woman whose normal attire consists of a string bikini wear to the beach?

The answer is nothing but some very artfully applied sand and shells. She has to match the room, of course.]

[Crowley enjoys going to the beach room to lounge about anyway. Still in his suit, of course, but that's besides the point. Mistress' attire gets an arched eyebrow before he goes back to sipping his wine]

Well, the Southern tends to be warmer, so you get warmer beaches.

Nah, nothing quite compares to the synthetic beauty Paradisa manages.

Why do you think this room is here?

To give us a little taste of Paradise, I expect. On Mondays and Fridays, it's full of snow.

Oh, does the Snow Queen visit?

It's definitely common in some worlds. Make great vacation spots.

And be careful there. I got locked in there for a few days once.

Ooh, what was here when it wasn't a beach or snow?

The Snow...

No, it just does it by itself.

[He paused, considering] Pretty sure it does, anyway,

Are there people who would really frequent a room of snow?

It actually stayed a beach while I was in there. Not exactly fond of being locked up like that, but it could have been worse. Wishes work in there, so we didn't starve. And plenty of alcohol.

Well, it sounds like a wonderful little reprieve, compared to what it could have been. But I think you like complaining, Washington.

[She sounds entertained.]

I don't like the whole being locked in thing, lady.

But you voluntarily lock yourself into that silly armor.

[amused] There's a serious difference. I can go wherever I want in the armor.

But you lock yourself in for safety. You told me so. Aren't you safer locked in a single room?

Assuming there's no beasts in the room, of course.

... The armor is safety with freedom to move. The room is safety with captivity.

If it's only temporary, what's so bad about captivity? I can think of plenty of things to idle away a few days.
