This may seem like a silly question, but, well... why do you think the castle takes so many humans and human-looking people here, compared to all the other types?

I get so many surprised looks and questions at what I am that I thought it was worth asking...

Maybe it's just because there are a lot more humans in different worlds compared to other kinds of people! Me and my brother are the only conjoined twins here, and I guess it's because that's not very common anywhere!

Yeah! It's a word my brother found in a book that means what we are.

It means we're stuck together. We have the same body and two heads.

That's true! So you don't have any two-headed creatures on your world? [She giggles at that. Hearing about other worlds fascinates her, so this is probably the first of many questions.]

Only in fairy tales. We don't even have many one-headed humans on my world.

The castle seems to take people at random, so it might just be a question of ratios. If there are more human-like worlds, there's a greater chance of human-like people, especially in a big castle like this.

But why is that, I wonder? Why are there more human-like worlds than others?

I don't know - that might not be the case.

It might be something like programs - humans made them, so they look like humans.

Hm... Do you think, then, whatever is behind the magic of this place might be human or human related? It's all very confusing.

I really have no idea. I think of it as the castle rather than anything humanoid at all.

It is an alternate explanation to the idea that the ratio of human and human-like worlds to non-human worlds is truly reflected amongst the residents here.

I guess so... I still wonder why that is. Maybe the castle is picky.

Not that I have anything wrong against humans! I've met some very nice ones. Sometimes the only thing that really separates us is appearance.

Well, I'm pretty used to being surrounded by humans anyway. It doesn't really bother me.
