[Sorry, love, but she works for a massive troll and is acquainted with her boss' equally huge of a troll brother. You'll have to raise the ante to get a significant reaction out of her. The very professional-looking woman raises an eyebrow when she opens the door. Her eyes widen a fraction, lips parting, but she has enough control over her emotions so that that is the extent of her visible surprise. She steps inside the room and the first thing she does is take off her stilettos. She has no desire to lose a shoe in the turf. Barefoot, she walks to the door on the left, which is...the door to a police box.

[TARDIS'LL DO IT. YEP. No amount of reading could have prepared her for this. She is completely unaware she's gaping as she freezes at the door.]

She certainly is. As many rooms as the castle itself, if not more. [he straightens up and comes 'round to meet her, smiling]

[She takes it with a smile.] A pleasure.

Yes, it quite is. ... [he turns and gestures to the console room] ... And, this is the TARDIS. Just the console room, of course, there's quite a bit more to it than this. Gallifreyan dimensional compression technology, half-organic, half-engineered.

Organic. As in...living?

Yes... TARDII are grown initially from a very special sort of coral that's only found on Gallifrey, where I'm from. Then once they're full size, they're modified and augmented with the appropriate technology to allow them to enter and navigate the time vortex.

Not in the least. Come on, follow me. It's not far at all -- [and he'll lead her to the back of the console room, past a corner that's a sort of small impromptu library, right down to the oriental rug and the wingback chair]

[ She is taking everything in with open curiosity and a disguised critical eye. ]

I've seen [ military bases ] hotels less [ equipped ] furnished than this.

That's because you travel to a hotel, not in one. [don't be silly, Evelyn. and voila, the TARDIS kitchen. design-wise it's sparse and white and somewhat mod-retro, but if she starts curiously opening drawers she'll find a lot of things that don't look like standard kitchen equipment or gadgets ... at least, not on Earth]

If you've seen photographs of Burj Al Arab, you might want to reconsider that conclusion.
