[You can't hear what happened before the journal opened, obviously, but it's easy enough to guess - someone, in surprise, has dropped their journal.
Or, well, maybe not surprise. There's coughing, which sounds rather nasty, and, well, wet. There's a thump that may or may not be someone meeting the floor in a less than graceful or planned manner, and the coughing gets louder, and... is that spit on the journal page? With flecks of blood? Ew, super-gross.
It stops after what seems like far, far too long, replaced by someone (probably unsurprisingly) gasping for breath before the recording cuts off]
[OOC: Replies will come when someone has managed to convince him this isn't a laudanum-dream]

Well...Because I'm on a loss...Have a cat.
So, when she hears the coughing, little pointy cat ears swivel around, and she pads off in that direction.
Right now, she's wishing she had her journal so much. But her ears are pretty keen, and she's doing her best to follow the sound of the coughing.]

Re: kitty \o/
And she is not the most social of cats under normal circumstances... Or the most social person when she isn't a cat, but this man obviously needs help. So, she slowly pads over and stares at him some more. How do cats do this? Ah yes.
Carefully, she butts her cold, wet nose against his hand. She can't write him a message telling him where he is, or that he's safe now, or any of the things she would love to do. But she can show him that she's friendly, at least. And then she looks up at him with big, huge, pale grey eyes. Hmm. Oddly intelligent, those eyes.]
"Mew?"

She drops to her butt beside him, nuzzling at his hand occasionally but for the most part just watching him and purring with the loudest purr ever.
He may not know it, but her purring like that is her way of reassuring him that she's there, and that she'll protect him.]

He'll continue to pet her from where he's sitting on the floor. He actually doesn't even really seem to notice the room at all - there's a sort of dreamy, far-off look to his face. And while he's stopped coughing, it's kind of clear that probably wasn't the first time. Mostly because healthy people are usually not that pale and skinny]

Letting out a mew, she plucks at his sleeve with her teeth, being careful not to accidentally bite him in the process, and points toward the door that leads out of the lobby with one paw. If cat could look worried this one definitely would be. Hey. Anyone who pets her deserves help.]
