I apologize for the mess I made on the journals the other day - I assure you, it was not intentional. Had I know of these books' rather unique properties, I'd have endeavored to be a little more careful. But thank you to everyone who expressed concern.

I suppose I ought to introduce myself properly - I am Thamuris, formerly of Troia, although given how different things are here, I have no idea if that means anything to anyone.

[And he's awake and at least partially upright for anyone who wants to run into him in the clinic. Not up to getting out of bed, but he's peering around as best he can because, well, everything here is so different]

Indeed. Particularly if what's hiding under the mud is a great big rock you haven't seen. It's a difficult art to master, given it's uncertainties.

[ Not that anything Thamuris said makes him think so - its just what Duke expecta from humans. ]

Think am content with the uncertainties of 'will that swordsman get me in his range before I can move again' or 'which spell will complete first, mine or theirs'.

It was my path, but certainly not everyone's. There is still need of those who can fight, or heal, or guard.

An unfortunate constant. [ Duke just expects that some people are going to be huge jerks no matter what-

Thamuris reclaims the bottle carefully, not wanting to surprise the other man too much. It's only a few spots, really, but with a sunburn that bad, even a few spots would be misery, and he's quick to touch them up.]

[ This is true.

And this is one of the moments where Duke realizes that he didn't find out the name of the guy helping him. It would be more awkward if he had any sort of feeling toward the lotion-helping other than 'thank you I can't reach that area' but. ]
