rose: play dress-up

[In want of a quiet place to knit, Rose has taken her yarn and her needles into the library this morning, and commandeered a table near the back. She's just finishing up what looks like a tiny, purple sweater, but the recipient of the garment doesn't seem to like it took much.]

Edgar, yarn isn't a digestible material. Please refrain from eating your own clothing.

[A tiny black kitten, who's been rolling around on the table, gently drops the sweater sleeve from his mouth before meowing loudly into the journal and hopping off the table to explore the rest of the library.]

I take it you have never owned a cat.

No~. I have pets at home, but no cats.

What makes them special?

They'll give you your own space, for one thing. They don't require walks or rigorous play in order to be satisfied.

Don't you like to play with your pets? What's wrong with that?

Of course. But I would prefer to make it through a few rows- [She gestures to her knitting] -without a canine pushing a rubber toy into my knees.
