23 traps filled with weird science

Hey! Uh, I'd put a filter up, but honestly it'd be really super-crazy-broad anyway, and I might as well just tell you all ...

I'm gonna be bringing my PKE meter outside today, and taking some readings of the old, original Dead Zone border from like, five years ago. Zelman was nice enough to give me a really good map of where the edge of everything used to be, and I was hoping I could find some sort of residual energy signature left over from when the borders shifted - kind of like the rings in a tree.

So, if anyone's interested in helping me collect some data, meet me out by the duck pond and we'll get this thing organized! I have one other PKE meter if anyone wants to help me take readings...

[and true to his word, he'll be waiting out by the duck pond in his ghostbusting coveralls, a sheaf of carefully-made copies of Zelman's map tucked in his journal in its harness, one PKE meter hanging from his belt, and the other in his hand. let's solve some mysteries, gang!]

[He laughs and heads down]

[and once he shows up, their intrepid crew has assembled and spread out along the borderline]

Hey, Doctor! ... So, here's the deal -- [he hands over a copy of the map] We're taking readings and samples along this line - where the old border used to be, to see if there are any significant signature differentials.

[hulloeverything]

[He takes a look at the map, memorizing it, and stuffs it into one of his pockets.] That sounds like a good plan to me.

[He looks out, looking over the area and the rest of the crew before grinning at Ray] This was a brilliant idea, Ray. The more information we gain about this place the better.

[he nods his agreement] I mean - it's a few years old, so it's probably a really cold trail, ectophysically speaking, but ... we still might find something, and that's better than nothing!

Oh - lemme recalibrate your PKE. Luna's gonna be helping us, and she naturally generates a tare wavelength of about 350...

[hulloeverything]

Luna? [He holds out his PKE meter] Can't say I know who that is.

She's one've those ponies we've got around - [he chatters on as he readjusts the tare signal, nodding toward Luna, who's ... probably making sample jars float or something] - like Twilight Sparkle, have you met her? I think you'd like her, she's really smart ... I've been teaching her about all the different cultures and philosophies back home for about a month now.

Ponies? Ah, I'd heard about them but I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure of meeting one.

Well, you will now! [he grins, handing the PKE meter back. it's been adjusted to compensate for a considerable amount of energy output] They're actually really, really neat - and they're all really nice, too. Twilight's been telling me about Equestria, where they're all from? It sounds like a fantastic place - all their magic is driven by something called the Elements of Harmony.
