[Felix walked into Chimera headquarters and smirked to himself. The castle hadn't missed decorating up here, either, and seeing that gave him a flutter of nostalgia, since it was here that he and Ashura had first kissed. Accordingly, it's the first day he's been in what might genuinely be called a good mood. Maybe that holiday 'good cheer' thing really did work.

He settles into a desk in the offices and gets to work.]

The castle certainly works quickly. I should probably be more surprised at it's abilities. Even accepting it as magic, it's...frankly amazing.

I can't help but wonder, for the rest of you, if you don't believe in magic, how do you explain this? And, if I may ask, why? I've found the reasons for not believing in magic says a lot about a particular world.

It's common in my world, but only because a good segment of the population manifests such abilities. And while we cannot exactly snap our fingers and decorate our homes, it's something the rest of the world simply accepts. I suppose it is one of the few things they do agree on.

While I'm on the subject, for those of you that do possess such talents and have not yet heard me mention it - my name is Felix Harrowgate and I run a small group hear I call Chimera. I started it almost two years with several goals in mind - to research any and every form of magic we encounter, both ours and that of the castle, with the hopes of reaching a greater understanding of it. We also, occasionally, get together to use our talents to defend the residents when the need arises.

If you're feeling better, I'd like to ask you to come up to headquarters and discuss how to implement your wards for the outpost. Given you almost died producing this crystal, I think we'd be amiss to not put it to good use.

Though, um, I had a favor to ask you. [Which he sounds somewhat embarrassed about]

I took my hair down to clean it and... I forgot how much work it is to get all the tangles out of long hair.

[Yes. Most pathetic request for help ever, and he's been clear-headed enough to be embarrassed by it.]

[Another slightly surprised pause, but he's also kind of struck that Thamuris trusted him enough to ask. And that is enough for him to take it seriously]

It can definitely be a chore. Would you like to come up and we could sort it out here?

Ah, that's what I wanted to show you, that is. Where I am. The offices for my council. I'm sure you heard all that just now.

[ He's pretty sure he has the hang of it, if he needed to do that again, but... ]

[ Give him a bit and he'll head up to the Chimera room- ]

[He'll be hanging around the lobby waiting for Duke to arrive. He's even made sure the castle decorations weren't anywhere Duke might trip on them. So many of those little soldier dolls. He wasn't sure what to make of the castle's theme this year]

<sub>[He had to smile to himself when he heard the way the other was talking. He only talked like that when it was about magic, and usually up in Chimera HQ. Something about that place... He shook his head with a little laugh and went to the kitchen to fetch tea and some tea cakes for them and headed up to the HQ.

He knocked to announce his presence as he glided in, dressed in red and white with hints of gold, mistletoe and holly berries stuck into his hair as decoration.]</sub>

I brought the great magician a repast.

_{[He smiled and shut the Chimera door, debating on locking it then shaking his head and coming over to where Felix sat. He set the tea and cakes on the desk and the slid himself into his lover's lap.]}

[He set the journal aside with a chuckle (and placed a paperweight on it for good measure), and slid an arm around Ashura's waist]

Do you mean the tea, or you?

_{[He hummed, wrapping an arm around the other's shoulder, his free hand toying with the bright red hair.]}

I suppose that depends on which will give you the most energy to get through the day.

_{[His smiled broadened, leaning in to give his lover a small kiss.]}

[He leaned into the kiss, humming happily]

I suppose I'll have to have both and see which gives the best results.

Not as far as I'd like. It's hard to keep up with that sort of thing when your members are always coming and going.

I guess it's possible.
