sixtieth labyrinth
[Felix walked into Chimera headquarters and smirked to himself. The castle hadn't missed decorating up here, either, and seeing that gave him a flutter of nostalgia, since it was here that he and Ashura had first kissed. Accordingly, it's the first day he's been in what might genuinely be called a good mood. Maybe that holiday 'good cheer' thing really did work.
He settles into a desk in the offices and gets to work.]
The castle certainly works quickly. I should probably be more surprised at it's abilities. Even accepting it as magic, it's...frankly amazing.
I can't help but wonder, for the rest of you, if you don't believe in magic, how do you explain this? And, if I may ask, why? I've found the reasons for not believing in magic says a lot about a particular world.
It's common in my world, but only because a good segment of the population manifests such abilities. And while we cannot exactly snap our fingers and decorate our homes, it's something the rest of the world simply accepts. I suppose it is one of the few things they do agree on.
[Filtered to magic-users and away from First-Gens, their allies, and people without good intentions towards the residents]]
While I'm on the subject, for those of you that do possess such talents and have not yet heard me mention it - my name is Felix Harrowgate and I run a small group hear I call Chimera. I started it almost two years with several goals in mind - to research any and every form of magic we encounter, both ours and that of the castle, with the hopes of reaching a greater understanding of it. We also, occasionally, get together to use our talents to defend the residents when the need arises.
If any or all of that interests you, or if you have more questions about the specific details, feel free to contact me at any time.
[Duke]
If you're feeling better, I'd like to ask you to come up to headquarters and discuss how to implement your wards for the outpost. Given you almost died producing this crystal, I think we'd be amiss to not put it to good use.
And I'm rather hesitant to go experimenting on this thing without talking to you first.
[Thamuris]
Are you free yet? I have something I want to show you.
[Crowley]
Is the game on this year?

Is the game on this year?

What would that do?

Would give an idea of how they change when set to use. [ And this is with leaving out hoplon, which he didn't intend to work with anyway, and Bodhi - speaking of bodhi, he focuses on Felix - or his general area - again. ]
... There is nothing against attempting to teach others some forms of magic, is there? [ Because he has people interested in healing. ]
no subject
...hmmm? No, not specifically. I'd recommend caution outside of Chimera members with certain magic but, ah...what was it you wanted to teach? [Because...unless they're from the same world...]
no subject
Healing. One works in the clinic, another has magic but no knowledge of healing. Third is uncertain if would be able to work magic. [ And that sounds quite a bit like chopping an arm and Duke would like to try to see if it would work. ]
Uncertain if mentioned, but magic style is similar to math. Own world needed a bodhi blastia and study and magic was available. Can likely restrict bodhi blastia's abilities into healing and healing alone...

... It is how it worked in own world, with kritya, humans... dogs. [ He's fairly sure that it will work with the races represented in Paradisa if it works on his world's 'elves', humans, and dogs. ] If it does not, can attempt to teach in ways their magic works - or perhaps just break it down so that they can replicate effects.
... I would have no interest in teaching those who already have methods of offense at their hands offensive casting.

[He's quickly losing the train of his thoughts as the nutcrackers at the back of the room start to affect him, and he starts leaning ever closer to Duke]
...use the excess...
no subject
[ He blinks and looks up, trying to place... something. Probably didn't matter. ]
need to be adjusted while there...
no subject
[Which is all the agreement he has the patience for at this point. He's very suddenly nudging Duke aside and pulling him into a kiss]
no subject
Does he remember this right? Probably not. He can attempt? ]
no subject
I THOUGHT I SENT THIS-
For a little while anyway. ]
no subject
You're improving.
no subject
[ He's confused about what that's supposed to mean for all of a handful of seconds-
Then he's turning red. He's not sure that this is something he should feel like he's improving on...? ]
no subject
Don't worry about it. We should get these sorted. I'd like a few of those spell formulas, to satisfy my curiosity, and perhaps a blank one to test against my own magic.
no subject
But Felix seems to have discovered the way to make Duke not get up and leave as soon as possible. Distractions. ]
.. yes. ... moment... [ He'll need a little bit to stop feeling quite so uncomfortable - although his face isn't recovering quite as fast - and then he's sorting out shards again. This one is the blank one, and he starts picking out a few. Light, water, fire, into these three crystals - and the color of them changes slightly - one is a little more gold-green, one more blue-green, and the last a bit orange-ish. ]
Can write out what I just put in them, but they won't function without a blastia body. Can try to put a few of those together after wards...

Could attempt, but would try with water. Unless lighting self on fire is a goal... Was not something tried.

... Now I feel as if have been lazy with how studied...

Aha- ]
While unknown if same holds true for this version of crystal - do not think this applies- the original sort had a habit of... increasing the power of spells near it, when it was whole. Part of the reason they were broken, too much magic to harness properly. Perhaps that is why it was not looked into- thought was that without shell, the blastia body, such a thing could repeat...? [ Oops, he forgot the apatheia could do that. But since nothing exploded in Chimera that he knew of, it was fine? ]
no subject
Could that be a product of the environment? From what I gather, the magic - ah...mana, that is - in your world is stronger. More of an ambient natural force in the world.
no subject
Depending on how much is left over from making the barrier, bodhi blastia, will look into seeing if there are ways to make them.. function without a body. [ Because it could be useful to have small, short lasting barriers handy... ]
