002. [Action] - Backdated to slightly after Kissing Phoenix.
What is the meaning of this?!…What the hell is wrong with this place? What are they putting in the air?!
[That…Phoenix had gotten a taste of the von Karmic perfection—quite literally—was like him drinking from the ambrosia of the gods, it was…forbidden! How could this be?! Why? What madness had overcome the both of them. He's evidently not pleased with the results, because he's currently isolated himself to a corner of the library.
The fact alone that he had kissed a defense attorney was a kind of relation that transgressed legal, moral, and professional norms…"Fraternization with the enemy", in effect.]
I will not allow this ridiculousness to continue!
[Of course after that entire mess he went to stalk the length of the castle corridors furthest from Wright as possible, vowing to never again seek out his company.
Little was he aware that nutcrackers abounded in this part of the library where he'd chosen to go, and that he'd done nothing to prevent encounters from happening with the other residents. It doesn't occur to him in fact, because he's having a rare moment in which his composure has slipped.
Manfred von Karma's s situational awareness was indeed lowered slightly, and despite the decorations of lights, tinsel, and other appropriate holiday fare, he stands right in the vicinity of the library where the nutcrackers happened to loom like little terrible dolls of ruination.
And with that, the dictation ends, for he's currently busy trying to recover his dignity.]
[ooc: Open to all for Kissmas things here, planned and unplanned!]

He feels his own lips quirking despite himself as well, his head bowing as if in acknowledgement of his title and place.]
Well met, Celeborn...That is quite a lofty title you bear, but no doubt a noble one. Though I cannot boast knowledge of such a place as Doriath or of the realms you may rule over, I am nevertheless pleased to make your acquaintance.
I am Prosecutor Manfred von Karma. My title is not as grand as yours in present times perhaps, but I take pride in it being my duty to punish those who create strife.
no subject
[ His brows quirked upward once Manfred introduced himself. ]
A prosecutor? I take it that you're a man of law, yes? Quite a noble profession.
<3
[Slowly von Karma seemed to be...relaxed, as if a taut knot of reservation began to unravel, interest creeping into his face. The nutcrackers were far too close for comfort, even here in the sanctity of a library filled with tomes.]
I am. I must say I am impressed by your knowledge, given the one I spoke of before held no such awareness of its significance.
Loving the thread. <3
Do not be too impressed with me, Sir von Karma. I haven't learned of such a profession until after my arrival here. All kings and lords act as both judge and jury in regards to the crimes done by their denizens.
[ Honestly, Celeborn nearly read every book within the library at least once since his arrival here. This place was his favorite haunt. ]
'Tis no wonder why one of my kind would have never heard of your title until now. However, I must confess that I'm quite intrigued with this notion of law in comparison to the autocracy of Middle-earth.
As am I. <3 If it's permissible, I shall commence kissmas things
...That you would seek it out is reason to make an impression upon me. I do not find many with such an inclination.
Then we see eye to eye on many things, I am of little doubt.
It is my calling. Though there are significant limitations that make it difficult to carry out justice as perfectly as I intend to. Laws written and enforced can only do so much to keep criminals at bay. Men are fraught with greed and soulless ambitions. I am certain that someone with as much wisdom as you seem to have would understand.
Feel free to do so!
You flatter me needlessly. I doubt many would be willing to enforce the laws as opposed to breaking them. 'Tis simply the fault of human nature that calls for others to act in such callous ways.
With pleasure <3
Hmm. And yet, I know not of elvish kind other than through the lore of my homeland of Germany. Noble beings, so the tales say. So what of you...Lord of Lothlórien and Prince of Doriath? Are you more perfect a being than that of men?
[Now he's uncomfortably close, being so bold as to stare him in the eyes intensely whilst he does so.]

[ Now finding himself honored by this fiend of a man, Celeborn couldn't help but curse his ill luck here and now. Was the magic of this realm this potent? He had heard of the oddities that occur here within the castle, but this was simply absurd! ]
Manfred. [ His voice was stern, and his gaze even sterner. ] You would do well to keep your distance.
no subject
I am...unable to stop, even if I wish to do so. Do pardon my transgression, Celeborn. For I know it is not exactly by my own will that I am compelled, yet by whatever powers are forcing my hand I cannot resist. My abilities to keep my distance are...unfortunately, it seems, weaker than I thought.
[As if he does not hear him speak von Karma does not heed Celeborn's warning, leaning up to press a kiss to his mouth, and gently thread fingers through that long hair, finding it silken to the touch. Indeed, it is a forbidden thing, to be so intimate with someone he barely knew and would rather stay in the good graces of, but alas had not a choice in the matter to do so.
The castle's whimsy was no doubt a very strong calling, indeed.]

Silently struggling against Manfred's grip, Celeborn didn't know what to think once those lips descended upon his. The kiss was nothing at all like the soft kisses he shared with his beautiful wife. Instead, it felt so strange and alien to him. It reminded him nothing of Galadriel, and this perhaps was a good thing.
Now begging for air, Celeborn had to forcefully pry himself out of Manfred's grip to reclaim some sense of dignity. Spell or no spell, that was absolutely humiliating. ]
Q-Quite enough!
Poor, poor Celeborn~
The kiss was not as harsh or as intense as it had been with Phoenix, though it was terrifyingly intimate. Moreso than he'd ever have cared to communicate or show with anyone were he in full possession of his senses. Just as soon as the elf pulled away did he snap to attention, his eyes suddenly keener and less hazy as they had been before. Anger shook him, but not directed at Celeborn per say.
He suddenly paled, coming to realize himself as if awoken from a dream, the spell broken. He quickly covered his mouth, then clutched at his shoulder.]
Mnnn....confound this place..! I absolutely detest it. Forgive me that...was not my intention. Now you know my reasons for being frazzled, from before.
He'll get over after some grumping! lol
Speak nothing of this lest you wish to part with more than your dignity.
[
Such an elegantly worded threat.]The day my wife hears of such lunacy, shall be the day you'll regret. I wish not to punish you for deeds not your own, but I wish not for her to hear of this.
[ A deep sigh escaped Celeborn as he combed back his silvery locks. ]
What sort of fancy does this realm possess, hm? T'was my luck to find a like-minded soul within this castle, only to have such a spell ruin our introduction.
[ Calming now after his slight outburst, Celeborn looked towards Manfred with an apologetic gaze. ]
You helpless soul. Perhaps it would be best for you to not tarry here for long in fear of others being lured to you by this curse. Shall you return to your quarters or linger here amongst the shelves of endless tomes?
:[ Grumping forever
Celeborn...You think me such a barbarian of a man that I would speak of it to your wife? No; I would not. I dare not. I am not someone who would be so vulgar. I wish not to speak of it myself. Despite my action, I assure you that is not a regular...event.
[He grimaced, even moreso, to know that he had a wife. But was that not expected?]
I am afraid no matter where I go I may be hounded and compeled to do such a deed while possessed, so the dangers of heading to my so-called "quarters" are no less than remaining here.
they can grump together!
Has some lowly fiend already assaulted her in such a way? Just the very thought alone infuriated him. ]
How despicable. [ Another sigh soon followed after his muttered words. ] It would seem that we are nothing more than pawns in this odd game of indulgences.
Grumpship. I think I approve of this..
His hand came up to smooth a stray lock that tried to be disobedient, pushing it to its original placement.
What is also clear is that he does not enjoy being a "pawn", and so would seek a means to resist this.]
If we do not wish to be used then we must keep alert. I believe I underestimated the environment in that regard. It will not be repeated.
I think I would benefit greatly to ally myself with someone as in possession of their senses as you. While I am not familiar with the concept...There may be a drug that addles the senses at work here. A lingering scent or...something amiss.
[Manfred does not extend his "friendship" lightly. Clearly the other had made an impression.]
Will you consider it?
The Grumpship of the Ring
Unlike Galadriel who seemed to have befriended many in Paradisa, Celeborn had none. He wasn't as sociable as her, and hardly as likeable. The Elvenlord has a tendency to keep to his thoughts, preferring silence over conversation.
Hence his surprise to be befriended by anyone here in this strange realm. ]
T'was considered and accepted, Sir Karma.
[ Now hopefully this newly founded friendship won't be ruined by needless mischief. ]
However, is it this common for such oddities to occur in human culture? I do believe this sort of...ritual is common to your ilk.
XDD Hahaha~ YES.
Manfred himself was not especially approachable in regards to such matters, instead engaging in activities that did not depend on the interaction with others. Solitary habits, in which knowledge and logic were predominant overall. His work had served to level that approach. But given the oddities of this realm indeed, he needed Celeborn's wisdom moreso than he'd have back home.
It seems that they were of a likened mind and spirit, a rarity in this day and age.]
....What are you implying? "Ritual"? I hardly think it "human culture" at all as you decree it to enforce the violation of such unwanted intimacy upon others, ritual or no.
[His lip curled slightly, brows lofting. He is not pleased, needless to say.]
no subject
[ He replied with a hint of surprise. As much as he read about this peculiar holiday, it would seem that Celeborn certainly doesn't know enough about the subject of "Christmas". It reminded him briefly of the lunar celebrations his people enjoy within Lothlórien, but only vaguely at that. ]
Then please accept my sincerest apologies if I had offended you.
[ A soft spoken reply laced in earnest. ]
no subject
His mouth still is taut, and he eyes the elf with a serious disposition now.]
I hardly approve of what "men" do, given my position as Prosecutor, Celeborn. While I do concur as to their being a number of "oddities" among them...It would be wise...not to associate my doings with theirs. However, I do not fault you for being unable to distinguish as such.
[For a von Karma was far more perfect than they.]
Therefore, I do accept such an apology.
no subject
It amused him greatly. ]
Worry not for I plan not to make such a lofty assumption ever again.
[ His smile widened just a little. ]
no subject
I...appreciate the thought.
[Manfred does not smile, but his expression is ever so slightly less...hardened. At least. What is more, he does find Celeborn's mannerisms to be quite pleasant in comparison to others.
His focus is drawn upon him further whilst he smiles however, wondering what exactly caused him to, in the first place.]
I suppose I simply do not wish to be thought of in such a manner. I'm sure you understand.
no subject
[ A wistful sigh escaped him as he wandered towards a nearby shelf. ]
As much as we pride ourselves in being nothing like our second kin, I shall confess that we Firstborns are very similar to your kind.
[ Celeborn's fingers drum idly across the spines of several books before finally plucking one off the shelf. He scours through the pages of the book with a bored expression before closing it once more. ]
I sometimes ponder the differences between our kind and I see more similarities between us than anything else.
no subject
His eyes trailed over the other, discerning his movements as he watched him toy with the book.]
...Similarities? I am afraid I do not know as much as I would like, of the Elves.
no subject
[ He said with a slight bow. ] I sometimes forget that not many beyond my kind knows us well enough to agree upon such a thought. Though, many of my brethren would be quite ill-fond of me if they heard me speak so loosely about our people.
[ A thoughtful gleam lingered within his gaze as he placed the book upon the shelf. ]
We Elves possess a dark history that we try in vain to forget. A history marred in much blood and kin-slaying. 'Tis not something we can easily forgive amongst our kind, but it serves as a reminder that us "immortals" aren't truly so immaculate.
[ His gaze returned to Manfred once more. ]
In truth we are merely cousins to each other, Manfred.
no subject
Celeborn...You are of a nobler blood than many may take you for, of this I have little doubt. Regardless if that is true...The fault hardly lies with you.
[For some reason, the way in which that is spoken leaves him quiet, his own eyes coming to meet Celeborn's. "Cousins"? Then an alliance forged in this way would not be an objectionable one.]
I...do not disagree.
