1 Green Leaf - Dictated
Ah, this is the first time I've used this journal to speak with you all. I am Legolas Thranduilion, for those whom I've not met. And I must apologize for not introducing myself sooner.
I've a question, and I'm sure it will sound foolish to many here but I've no idea what this 'Christmas' is. We don't have it where I am from, I'm afraid.
[ooc: open to Kissmas shenanigans~]

dictated ---> action
[He closes his journal and heads down to the lobby, dressed in doe-skin trousers, knee-high indoor boots, and a winter tunic of a deep green that set off his dark hair and bright blue eyes.
He spotted Legolas, the only one really there, and strode over.]
I'm Vanyel Ashkevron. I believe we spoke over the journals about finding the library?
action
A pleasure to meet you in person, Vanyel. We did, yes.
Re: action
No need for such formality. It's almost pointless here, really. Could you pronounce your name for me again? I feel horrible asking again, so my apologies.
action
No need to apologize. I am Legolas Thranduilion, simply Legolas in name however. The second is more a title.
Re: action
Well then, Legolas, follow me to the library. It's quite something to see, really.
action
Ah, yes. Of course, let's not waste to much time.
[He's quickly following Vanyel at this point, smile on his face.]
Re: action
I cannot promise what we will find the library, but I am sure we can find something. There are many different texts that I know of, so the information will vary, I am sure.
[ooc: did you want this to be a kissy post or no?]
Re: action
[ooc: I'm okay either way :3]
Re: action
[He turned a corner and began to lead towards the library, giving the other a soft smile, finding himself quite liking the other man. He was calm, for one, and had a good sense of humor on him. A rare combination.]
There are many a strange thing here. I almost seem mundane.
Re: action
I find that nobody here is mundane. Or even close to.
Re: action
Haha, I suppose that is one way of looking it. At least my mage friends do not think me so, but then I admit I have a habit of doing foolish things with my magic.
[He turned another corner and came to a set of doors. He took the handle of one and pushed, leading Legolas into the wide expanse that was the Castle library.]
action
Once he could be assured that he was safe from the wrath of another elf.]You are capable of magic? I know of only one wizard whom I call friend though he is not here. A shame and yet not, for I'm sure he would be unhappy to be confined to this world.
[Well! That sight just stops him for a moment and nearly leaves him breathless.]
My... goodness. I've not seen a library so large in my life.
Re: action
And, in response to your previous statement, yes, I can perform magic. I am multi-Talented, actually, and am one of the last remaning Herald Mages in my world.
[It was a sad thing, that, and it made his heart ache at the thought, of always going home and finding a new grave and one less friend to greet him.]
Re: action
[His expression fell then, ever so slightly, at the explanation. He could almost understand, as his people steadily left Middle Earth. Not all had but the time of elves had ended.]
Is there nowhere to find others?
Re: action
Not enough are being born with the Mage Gift to replace those of us lost. I... suspect darker workings, but there is no proof, and I am one man. I am powerful, but even with Nodes, I can only do so much.
It is why I am trying to turn the people away from our magics, and to the Gifts of those new Heralds. To be quiet honest, many of them have Gifts better suited for situations than even my Mage Gift.
[Never mind that he was incredibly strong in other areas as well. He would go down in history as the strongest Herald Mage to ever live.]
But that is a sad tale, and not one for a new friend. So, Christmas.... I think this way.
[He pointed and began to lead the other down a stack of books.]
Re: action
Another time, then. If ever you wish.
[He'll continue smiling, encouraging, and follow him to seek the books on Christmas. Legolas could now only imagine how many books they might discover on the subject.]
Re: action
[He paused in front of a section and smiled, reaching up and tugging down a thin volume, presenting it to Legolas.]
I find this one of the sweeter tales - Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It is not steeped in the religious aspect, but it is heavily associate with this holiday.
Re: action
[Hmm, it sounded interesting enough and looked to be the size of a childrens tale so he accepted it. Oh look! Flipping to the first page, it seems he was right.]
It almost seems like it would have been a story my naneth would have told me if such a holiday existed in Middle Earth.
Re: action
[He looked at the other curiously, not recognizing the word, and he had come across some interesting ones in his time with the Taleydras.
Even as he asked, he turned back to the stack and pulled out another book, this one a lighter version of the religious aspect of the holiday, and then another that detailed different Earth traditions of the same holiday depending on country.]
Re: action
[Well, there certainly were a few books about Christmas. It seemed that Legolas would definitely have some reading to do and then learn how to wrap presents.]
Re: action
[He smiled, finishing finding the most basic of the books.]
Those should get you started, though I would not linger to long on the religious aspect. It gets muddled, really, as there are many different versions of the same religion - or so I have come to understand.
Re: action
[Well, he now had plenty of reading material. Enough to keep him occupied for a couple weeks, perhaps less if he made no effort to sleep.]
Thank you, truly. I will be certain to avoid too much focus on that subject.
