Friend, it has been far to long since we have spoken again. But then, I feel almost as if I plan to go into hibernation with all this ice creeping in. It is a challenge just to get up in the mornings.

[All of that done, Ashura decides to brave the wilds of the freezing Castle. It is not a fun excursion, but he does have responsibilities still, whether he wishes to hibernate in the warmth of his shared bed or not. So he wraps himself up in a fur-lined robe and begins to make his way (carefully) through the halls. He would have melted the ice as he went, but a) that just makes a mess, really and b) it just freezes right over again so why bother? It was lovely in its own way, though he appreciated it from afar and not in practice.

He's making his way through the halls, managing not to look like a marshmallow by some miracle of god, approaching the lobby to head outside when - 

That ONE stray patch of ice that's not like the rest. Somehow. Don't ask how. But it's there. 

Well, Ashura finds it, and lets out an undignified squawk as he slips and falls straight to his bottom, knocking a nearby table, and setting a nutcracker to falling down into the back of his hood (it was a tiny nutcracker). 

Today is not a good day to be a king.]

[It's when one slips and falls and makes an absolutely ungraceful mess of oneself that one wishes to be completely alone, right? And somehow that never seems to be the case, right? Well, that luck holds, because Zack had just come around the corner from the opposite direction in enough time to see the man take a fall.

Luckily, Zack's not the kind to point and laugh. Instead there's a gloved hand extended, and offer for help to stand.]

Thank you. I feel is impossible to act with grace in the winter in this Castle.

[Guy, girl, doesn't matter much to Zack right now -- what matters is that the person is okay. And that's how it seems too, judging from the grace of the standing motion. Still, Zack will offer the support of a hand until he's sure the other person has regained his footing securely; it wouldn't do to stand just to fall immediately.

Zack doesn't actually recognize Ashura: they've only had one conversation over the journals, and never met in person. Funny how that kind of thing can happen in the Castle, right? Of course, absolutely none of that is on his mind right now.]

[The jingling catches Zack's attention though and he smiles. He's seen a lot of bells in decorations lately, and attributes it to being festive. Christmas still doesn't make a lot of sense to him, but he supposes it's cultural difference. And he's okay with that.]

Hey, it's no problem. [Zack's hand is extended again, this time for a handshake.] Zack Fair.

[Any minute now, that hidden nutcracker is bound to start affecting them...]
