℗ oo7. holiday traditions
[The soft sounds of instrumental Christmas songs can be heard through the journal, maybe even a hint of peppermint and warm vanilla. Pepper isn't exactly a good cook, but she knows how to prepare for an event. The thing is that she had hoped for something small and personal - something she hasn't had in quite a while. There were always benefits and charity dinners around the holiday, so this is a nice change of pace.
Even with the change of pace, she still wants to do something nice for others.]
I know not everyone here has plans for the holiday or maybe you are trying to avoid all the puddles, but anyone is welcome to come to the tower in the city. [She puts a small map here on the page.] Most of the construction is completed and the lobby is decorated thanks in part to my very special decorating crew.
If you just want someplace to stop and rest for a bit, or even if you want to spend time with someone new -- I'll be here all evening and you're more than welcome to come.
[She'll just go about eating some of those cookies now.]
(ooc: open for journal or drop-bys. Last chance for kisses or general Christmas cheer.)

There isn't even an RSVP list that I'm going to make you sign off on. [Her body leans to the side, catching sight of that box.] Is that for me?
[She's amused.] An actual gift I didn't buy for myself?
no subject
Well anyway! ] But here you go. [ And he'll hand it to her.
Go ahead. Take it.
Heh. ]

Then she frowns.]
Ha ha. You're so clever. [She hates her loss and hates that he seems to enjoy it.]
Tony... [You're trying her patience. As usual.]

[BUT... she's gonna head to this gift first.] Nothing is going to explode when I open this, is there?

[ That's a joke. The package actually contains a gift basket. Strawberry-scented bath supplies, AKA generic-gift-for-a-woman with the worst scent possible, then a fancy perfume that smells at least passingly similar to a brand that he knew she liked back home, and an expensive-looking gold necklace. At least the necklace is a good gift? Probably.
He's not good at this, okay? ]

She goes to sniff the STRAWBERRY scented bath items and smirks, setting them down. She knows he forgets and she's waiting for him to remember. Possibly a month from now. She'll smell the perfume and smile softly, setting that on the other side of herself. He might notice all the strawberry items are staying IN THE BOX.
The small box inside the bigger box that holds the necklace -- that earns the warmest smile. She stands up and moves over toward him, offering it up to him.]
Here, you can help me put it on.

Completely missing the bit about the strawberry stuff, though. Give him a few days. ]

Her hand touches to the necklace as she smiles. She also replies rather ~romantically.]
I'm already very fond of it. [Of course, Pepper is only capable of on-upping Tony on one thing. Gifts. She turns around and kisses him, smiling against his mouth before she pulls back.] Thank you, Mr. Stark.
[There might have even been a dreamy sigh. Either way, she's stepping away from him, because she has to go get his gift!]

[ And now she's stepping away. He'd rather keep her close. But it probably means she's going to go get his own gift, and attempt to one-up him with it.
He's hoping she didn't keep his gift very far. He'd rather have her company. Probably. Depends on the gift. (Okay, he prefers the company.) ]

isare waaaay not over there. Right here, actually. Did he not notice the two boxes? She hands them to him one at a time. The first is booze. It's actually a really nice bottle too. She didn't wish for it, though, so she will have to say that it's locally distilled. It might not be as nice inside as the bottle is. Get it.The second box is flat and within it is a watch. Oh, but not any watch. See, back home there is a company called Van Cleef & Arpels and they make unique timepieces. They create a scene upon the face of the watch and allow the slow movement of those specific pieces to act as the passing of time. A woman walks across the viewing deck of the Eiffel tower in one, to signify the hours while the moon rises and falls to signify the minutes.
Now, one might wonder how Pepper Potts has gotten one of those watches, but she didn't. Nope. Instead, she found a watchmaker in Paradisa and she explained what she needed. Granted, she did this three months ago, but never the less, she requested the timepiece be made. So in this box, Mr. Tony Stark, is an expertly crafted timepiece. The face of this timepiece is a night skyline, seemingly lit up in the background and there is a small rooftop that has the hours of the day marked along the edge. At the left of the face is a man in what appears to be the Iron Man armor. Though it's so small and detailed, she's sure that Tony will note that it is the correct version, because Pepper knows these details. The opposite end of the small ledge is a girl in silhouette and whenever he needs to know the time, he can simply turn the dial at the side and the two figures will meet up at the appropriate spot in time and it they kiss. (Totally romantic. Because it's from when she kissed him on the rooftop.) The minutes are represented by fireworks in the sky.
She put a lot of thought into this... but she also got him the alcohol and will be taking tomorrow off from all her errands, too.
Oh, right. He has to open it.]
Merry Christmas. [Cut to her adorable smirk as she waits for him to open it... and go ahead and google that watch company.]

[ Tony examines it. Messes with it. Tries it on.
Words are hard.
Oh, wait, no, he's Tony Stark. Words come. ]
This is... wow. Extravagant? Thoughtful? Amazing?
...Definitely an A-plus. I feel like the necklace is a little underwhelming, now.
Oh, hell, just come here. [ Going to pull her in for a kiss, because that's better than words.
Also, it'd match the watch. ]

It took her a while to figure out what to get him and then ending up in Paradisa instead of New York... well, that put a hitch in her plan. She made it work though.]
I love the necklace. [She replies softly before she is kissed by him and yes, the kissing is sometimes better than the words. This is one of those times.]
