It has been a good day!

[He's a touch tipsy :')]

I rather like this Christmas. You see, in my time, gifts are usually only given between landlords and their tenants, so it is sweet to see that everyone is so generous in the future.

However, I rather prefer it as Novena, in which we have fun for eight days, and into the New Year.

Also, the man who first created la presepe -- a nativity scene -- was an Italian! He may not have been a Florentine, but Italian will have to do. Yet one more thing you should thank Italia for! We may as well have invented Christmas for you all.

And while we are on the subject: why have I not see any presepe here? You should get on that, fellow residents, it is not too late! At worst, if we cannot find any sculptors amongst our lot, we can just have some dress up in costume and pose for some time in the lobby.

[Yeah, tipsy.]

But even so... to my friends, grazie per la tua amicizia in my first year in Paradisa. I hope there will be more to come!

Ahh, what kind of drink is that?

Good ol' Mr. Jack Daniels! I see you got your standby.

I have never had Jack Daniels, but it is a good night for firsts.

[He stands back so she can come in.]

[She walks in and sits like she owns the place, wishing up a couple tumblrs and filling them, adding ice to his while keeping hers neat.]

It's pretty strong so you'd probably better start out slow. Don't want to knock you on yor ass cirst thing, right? So, what are you contemplating?

[He grins and sits across from her.]

I am contemplating all the things I have learned in the last year.

Yeah? You learn a lot? [She grins in return, settling back in her seat and taking a sip from her drink.]

I did.

[Mm, wine.]

I have been in the future for over a year now. I see society through new eyes!

[i_got_this]

[South tilts her head curiously]

And what do you think of it, after a year?

[assassino]

I very much enjoy the future. There have been many clever innovations, good changes for the well-being of mankind... but at the same time, it is far away from home. I would still prefer my own time.

[i_got_this]

[She can't help quirking an eyebrow at that.] All the amenities of the future and you'd still go back?

[assassino]

Oh, I wish I could bring those amenities back with me, but I am not going to abandon my culture. Would you abandon yours?

[i_got_this]

Are you kidding? Mine's in the opposite direction; it's like Im stuck in the dark ages here. Of course I'd go back. [And South misses the point.]

[assassino]

Exactly. Neither of us would abandon our people.

[i_got_this]

Screw my people, I'm talking about interstellar travel, organ flash cloning, and power armor. [She'd miss them. She already misses her brother, but she's not about to tell anyone else that.]

[assassino]

Well, then, I care about my people.

[i_got_this]

[South can't help but chuckle, looking at him over her glass.]

So ... you want a medal or what?

[assassino]

[He grins.]

You should know Italians by now! We have so much pride.

[i_got_this]

Heh, yeah, I guess I should have seen that one coming.

[assassino]

You should have! How can you know so little about my people?

[i_got_this]

[South gives a shrug, takes a drink, and sets her glass down on the table.] Dunno. Never knew any full-blooded Italians, really.

[assassino]

[He grins.]

You've "known" me.

[i_got_this]

[She smirks back, then shrugs again and settles back in her seat.]

Maybe once wasn't enough to leave a lasting impression.

[assassino]

Do you need another?

[i_got_this]

Well, only if you're offering. [It hadn't been her intent on coming up here; she was lured simply with booze, but she wasn't about to turn down a good opportunity when it presented itself.]
