[ Lana ]
The tree is small, but decorated. .. if you wanted to see it.
[ Gifts ]
[ Everyone receives a very simple message, written in her typical elegant script, on decorative stationary. For her acquaintances, the letters read:
These are for you.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.
Abby
---
[ Now, to those who gave her a gift: ]
Receiving gifts is not something I am used to, but I am thankful for them.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.
Abby
[ Being delivered with both notes are small, but personal, gift baskets that she put together herself. They each contain an assortment of candies, cookies, a scented candle (either apple cinnamon, gingerbread or peppermint -- leaving the choice of which to the muns) and a crystalline ornament shaped like a snowflake. But along with those, a few people were given an extra gift.
[ Extra Gifts ]
Arya's has two extra gifts, despite the fact she already gave her a few earlier in the month. The first is wrapped, but it is a board game (Scrabble). There's a noted taped to it that reads: It is a popular word game, meant to be played with a group of people. You should invite your friends to play. But she not-so secretly means she should invite her mother and sister to play. The second was more of an impulse buy to ensure Arya would have a gift to open Christmas day from her, so it isn't overly grand. It's a cloak with several pockets hidden inside of it. Inside of one of these pockets is another note: To hide your keepsakes during your adventures.
Ezio's gift is a trinket box with a hidden compartment, where he can store any number of items. Inside of it, written in French (be proud of her, Ezio), is: I hope that you find this useful. The key is also with it.
Mavis' basket has a small decorative box in it with a black bow on top. It contains two pretty treasures.
Sophie gets this very pretty charm, complete with a delicate silver chain so she can wear it as a necklace.
It's.. nice, to spend a holiday with a lot of people.
I don't think I would mind if I had to celebrate Christmas back home. In fact, I almost hope I do. More than myself, Owen would have a lot of fun giving gifts and receiving them. He is better at giving gifts than I am.
But I could learn how. It's important to find the right gift.

Abby
Do you like flowers? I could send you some.
Sophie
No one has given me flowers before.
Abby

Knock knock! ]

.. Lana?
no subject
That would be me. And you're Abby?
no subject
As she doesn't want to lead anyone to Arya, she's a protective little thing, she's put the tree in her own room. It's very cold because a window is open and the only piece of furniture is the closet containing clothing. Her bed? Is a ton of blankets thrown on the floor with a single pillow on top. It looks like a bum lives here, but she always stays with Arya so.. whoops.
The only other thing in the room is the tree. Pretty snow! .. real snow, which there is a trail of starting at the window. She totally got that tree from outside. Hurhur. Did she do it right, Lana? :D ]
You can come in.
no subject
Abby! You're going to freeze yourself to death with the window open like this.
[ Lana looks down, stepping back to see that she left a foot print in...snow? At least that causes her to look over at the tree, and then back to the girl. This is the weirdest thing ever and she's known this girl less than a minute.
But not about to insult the effort, okay? She's just wondering who the hell helped her and why did they not close the damn window. ]
It's...beautiful. Who helped you?
no subject
[ When Lana turns back around from closing the window, she's greeted by a somewhat somber look from the little girl. The pain behind it should be uncharacteristic for one of her age but, for her, it's right on the mark.
She looks away, stepping over to the tree to touch a snow covered branch. ]
No one.

If she doesn't feel the cold, that could mean several things--and the simplest explanation could just mean she's exaggerating. But you never know in Paradisa ]
Did you drag this tree in by yourself?
no subject
Especially when, shortly before arriving, she had to kill someone who wanted to kill her. An adult. Trusting issues? Heavy. ]
I wanted it to be authentic.
no subject
[ Seriously can she just hug her already. She wants to with all these sad looks, but she is just not one of those weird adults that touches kids she just met, okay? Also Damian sort of trained her out of that... ]
How did you do it by yourself? You must have some muscles on you. I bet you could bench press more than any other kid here.
no subject
[ Her life sucks, all the hugs in the world wouldn't make this kid crack a smile. Before answering her, she lets the silence linger a moment too long as she scans her face for something.
For what is anyone's guess but, whatever it is, she's found it. To avoid Lana's gaze, she turns to the tree and picks at an ornament idly. ]
It's.. better if you don't know, Lana.
no subject
She can't tell if it's some subconscious cry for help (what kind?) or just Lana being played. ]
I'll tell you a secret about me if you tell me yours.
no subject
[ She stares at her in silence after that for well over a minute but, eventually, she looks down after giving a nod.
When she looks up again, her eyes have changed. Even though she is sharing this secret, she isn't going to ask Lana to share one. Some secrets are meant to be kept, but she's trying not to withhold this one so much. ]
.. I need blood to survive.
no subject
So she clears her throat to give herself a moment before speaking. ]
I'm not afraid. You're not the first vampire I've known, and I know you wouldn't hurt me.
[ She doesn't know that, she barely knows Abby, but Lana is aware any vampire would just break their teeth on her skin if they tried. ]
Abby
You must tell me if there is anything you like, I wish to return your gift with one of my own.
Daenerys
I don't need a gift. [ She's so unused to getting them that she's awkward when it comes to the subject. ]
Abby
Daenerys

It's sad how easy his stammering is to write o_o
Haha.

How old are you, Abby? Your real age. If...there's something about you that you...don't like to talk about, you don't have to worry about me. I won't tell anyone
