FEAST OF FOOLS

After two days of endless preparations, the time is finally here!

As midnight edges closer, some of the Fools may drag their friends to the stables where a simple and merry feast is set up. Or perhaps it is the lights and raucous noise rising over the sound of fiddles and violin that catches your attention.

Either way, you're here, the new Queen will be crowned at the start of the new year and then the party begins!

First time at a dance here? Yes.

[gottaknockhard]

[He nods.]

I can see then. You didn't know what you'd be missing.

[kryptonian]

Uh, that's one way to put it. I've still only been here a few minutes.

[gottaknockhard]

[Oh, that was a dumb thing to say, wasn't it? He shrinks back a little, turning red yet again.]

Of course, you wouldn't.

[kryptonian]

[Aww, cutie, don't feel bad.]

I'll stick it out some more. For you.

[And she smiles.]

[gottaknockhard]

[Breathe... He tries to smile again, totally not crazy nervous suddenly.]

I... I don't think you'll regret it. [They should keep dancing, that should cover up his nerves. He's not that bad, all things considered.] I mean, everyone usually... [...doesn't. Basically.]

[kryptonian]

[She smiles enough that her nose crinkles. Teasing, even as she moves to take the lead in dancing:]

You're blushing a lot. Are you always this nervous?

[gottaknockhard]

[Ahaha... Yes.]

I just want everything to go well.

[kryptonian]

Is this party yours or something?

[gottaknockhard]

[He laughs abruptly.]

No, it's not-- I don't mean that it wouldn't, because it will. [Hopefully nobody overheard him say that.] I babble on sometimes without thinking.

[kryptonian]

[She bites her lip for a second, with an impish smile.]

I didn't notice.

[gottaknockhard]

[He seems to relax marginally after she says that.]

You're too kind.

[kryptonian]

Well, you're making this party more fun for me.

[gottaknockhard]

[Oh gosh, he is? Spike stops moving as the pressure that puts him under hits.]

You're having fun?

[kryptonian]

[She stops when he does, and looks up at him curiously.]

Sure, why not? I can't remember the last time I danced at a party.

[gottaknockhard]

[You'd think this was the first time anyone has said that to him; he's going to get all worked up at this rate.]

Ha. That's perfect. You're supposed to!

[kryptonian]

[Why is this guy so cuuuute? Dopey, but cute.]

Good.

Did you have a hand in throwing this party, or are you just extra nice to its guests?

[gottaknockhard]

[He's visibly embarrassed by her compliments, but encouraged all the same. (Just don't call him cute or he may actually run off and hide...)]

We all worked on it. I only had a small part.

[Yeah, he totally forgot they were dancing.]

[kryptonian]

[She laughs.]

I'm sure, I'm sure.

[She hasn't. She's totally taking the lead.]

[gottaknockhard]

[He just lets her, which initially startles him until he remembers.

She's still talking to him too, what's going on.]

It's okay. I'm not usually into the whole... rustic thing.

[Rustic? This is music for royalty, did they not do a good enough job??

He lowers his head to avoid eye contact and keep up his nerve.]

The only place I have ever heard fiddles is in the country. Seriously.

[She grins.]

I usually like pop. Top 40 type stuff.

[gottaknockhard]

[Top 40... he has no idea what that is.]

I could ask if they know any.
