[Come midnight, Maine is not in his bed and he is not alone. He is, however, a heavy enough sleeper that he doesn't notice right away, perhaps even sidling up to and wrapping thick arms around the supple, long-haired warm body beside him. The idea that he remembers going to bed alone doesn't quite jar him awake. It's more a nagging oddity that gradually pulls him conscious.]
[Eventually he's forced to blink his eyes open and actaully look at his bedmate. He didn't recognize the face, but that's not what had him suddenly shoving back with a startled yelp and falling off the bed. No, Maine did that because the woman he thought he'd been cuddling turned out to be a guy.]
[His tumble off the heart-shaped bed caused him to knock a journal open.] WHAT THE FUCK.
[[ooc: Maine and Duke, open journal for either!]]

Duke goes rolling off the other end of the bed because sudden loud noises are not good. And because the edge of the bed was a lot quicker than he thought it should have been. He's having a bad month, in terms of how many times he's knocked his head on things, but at least this isn't the door then the floor. ]
Loud. [ Yes, he's still tangled in blankets and on the floor and he's going to complain about the other's volume. ]

Where are we?

Candles? - [ Where'd he put his journal- ]

Screw candles. Where's the exit?

Duke puts his hand on the wall then jerks his head over toward what is more or less a hall to the door. ]
That way. [ Pulling those sheets over his head now, who cares if they don't feel right. ]
no subject
[And then growling in frustration.] Locked! [He gives it a kick. COME ON DOOR, WORK!]

Who are you?
no subject
Duke. You? [ Yes, he's aware that could be a title, no, he's not adding more. ]
no subject
Maine. [Yeah you don't get to know he's an elite soldier, not yet.] What's your problem?

[He rarely heard such language, so in his experience when he did something bad was happening. And considering this was Paradisa, well...]

No one is injured, in terms of 'all right'. [ He's just sleepy and grumpy. ]

Just stuck in a cave with an idiot.

Good to know the castle isn't just fucking with me.
no subject
Yeah? You end up with anyone?
no subject
Maine, do you think the castle would let me off easy? I woke up in the bed of a woman that calls herself Mistress.
no subject
Trade.

[This really was torture, wasn't it? Because Maine just knows Washington isn't going to enjoy his time with Mistress nearly as much as Maine would.]
Be nice to her.
no subject
You're worried about me being nice to her? She threatened me with a strap-on the first time we met.
