#002 - Cosmic Adventures

[Kara Zor-El is in Insolitus.

She's not quite lost -- no, she's not about to admit that yet -- but she's starting to think maybe she's become too reliant on her abilities. Here, in a maze that doesn't let her see through walls, it's a little tricky to stay "unlost", so to speak. But wasn't that adventure with Kal all those months ago supposed to teach her to not be too reliant on her abilities?

But hey, she's not lost yet.

She's just a little bit turned around in a maze of tunnels and ladders and all those things.

Hmm, what to do? She's sitting mid-way up a ladder with her journal to collect her thoughts.]

You know, what kind of castle keeps a giant evil jungle gym in its underbelly?

Thanks! The hardest part is keeping my grip from this far away. I think...someone's gone by once or twice with a feather against my wrist.

[He wipes the sweat from his brow with his free hand.]

I'm okay, I just...need to not have my arm be hundreds of feet long for too much longer. I don't have any resistance on it or anything, it's just...tiring keeping it anchored, as long as my arm is now. I don't have the endurance to maintain it for a long time.

Thanks!

[He smiles, liking actually being praised for being himself. At Kara's question, he nods.]

I'll start it walking back to us now. It shouldn't take anywhere near as long as it took me to get here, since I can sorta reel it in like I'm fishing. If muscle memory works the way Professor McCoy says, I should be able to find the way out from the directions my arms goes on the way in.

[He flinches a few times as he manipulates his arm from afar, and closes his eyes as he reels it in, putting all of his senses into feeling where his arm is going. When his hand returns to where it ought to be, he shakes his arm out a few times, as though trying to rid himself of a funny feeling.]

Ugh, it's all tingly now, like I slept on it.
