#002 - Cosmic Adventures

[Kara Zor-El is in Insolitus.

She's not quite lost -- no, she's not about to admit that yet -- but she's starting to think maybe she's become too reliant on her abilities. Here, in a maze that doesn't let her see through walls, it's a little tricky to stay "unlost", so to speak. But wasn't that adventure with Kal all those months ago supposed to teach her to not be too reliant on her abilities?

But hey, she's not lost yet.

She's just a little bit turned around in a maze of tunnels and ladders and all those things.

Hmm, what to do? She's sitting mid-way up a ladder with her journal to collect her thoughts.]

I'm glad. You've done a lot for me in very little time, it wouldn't be right to just turn my back on you over something like that.

[kryptonian]

[Aww, flattery. She doesn't get that all the time...]

I appreciate that, too, haha. And anytime –– you need anything, I can be there in a second.

And now I know you mean literally too, Must be handy.

I wouldn't call it super fast, but I was made to be pretty quick on my feet. With how you've described it, I'm thinking you likely out class me in that regard.

So strong, fast and can see through walls. Anything I'm missing?

[kryptonian]

Durability to match, because what good would super-strength be if you broke yourself doing it? Flight, special vision, yadda yadda yadda.

[whistles_the_blues]

Flight? Okay that's pretty cool.

[He pauses for a little bit before adding in.]

I have an arm cannon... But I'm kind of limited in how much I can use it, you've already heard about all the core problems.

[kryptonian]

Is it on an internal battery, or do you load it with something? What do you fire from it?

[whistles_the_blues]

[He's a little surprised by all the questions, he didn't think it would be something she'd be all that interested in. He holds up his left arm and there's a brief flash of light as his hand is replaced with the cannon.]

It draws from the same battery as the rest of my systems, so the more I use it the less power I have in general.

[He turns to show her a yellow gauge on the side of it. It's about eighty percent full at the moment.]

This shows how much power I have left in general, if it's completely out I can still function for a little while but it's best not to risk it.

And well it shoots out plasma blasts, I can charge it up briefly to get a bit more punch out of them.

[kryptonian]

Neat. [Pause.] My body works kind of the same way, though organic, obviously. Is it hard to recharge?

[whistles_the_blues]

I'd say it's harder to maintain the charge than to regain it.

I have some equipment set up in my room that I can plug into to recharge. But I also get a bit of a trickle charge from solar radiation. It works better if I shut down and "sleep" for a few hours.

[kryptonian]

So if I ever find you low on batteries, tuck you into bed under a sun lamp?

[Teasing...]

A bed? That's pretty classy, I'd settle for a table.

[kryptonian]

Might have to be a sturdy table, though.

[whistles_the_blues]

Well I hope you wouldn't just put me on any table.

[kryptonian]

I can do that.

[whistles_the_blues]

You sure? I don't want to be left on some rickety old table that falls a part the second I start to move.

[kryptonian]

Very sure.

[whistles_the_blues]

Well good.

You said you could run out of energy for your powers too. How do you replenish it when you're out? I'm guessing food isn't the answer since you said you'd be fine without it.

[kryptonian]

The sun, pretty much. My cells act like solar batteries.

[whistles_the_blues]

Interesting. Well, we can just use the same plan if you ever end up running low. That's convenient.

[kryptonian]

Always good to have back-up.

Hope for mostly clear skies in the afternoon?

Doesn't even have to be direct sunlight, for me.

[whistles_the_blues]

Even better. Saves getting odd looks while carrying you outside.
