Resolution Confusion

Do you know, when I think on it, I have never actually made a New Year's resolution, so to speak? It appears sometimes in the novels I read and I have heard people in the past make much of them, but... I have never made one. It is hard to think what a good one might be though. Perhaps to garden more? I was somewhat lax this past year, and I have not down as well with my winter flowers as I thought I would. To many distractions. 

But, I wonder, does anyone actually keep these resolutions? From the way they are talked of in the books, it seems they are more of a joke than anything? But if that is so, what is the point of making them? 

[And if you do not want to talk to him about such things, well, he will be down in the kitchens. He's dressed in a fur lined robe, clearly cold. Before him is the kitchen table, along with a tea set - but it is not being used to pour tea. Oh no. It is being used to pour tweet, delicious hot cocoa mixed with mint. Once he has poured a cup he takes a can of whipped cream and squirts some out - actually, a lot out, and chocolate sprinkles.

Delicioso. 

Anyone else want some?]

Ehh, those things are usually made to make yourself feel like a better person during the new years. Best thing to do about those is to make 'em small so you do feel great at the end of the year.

Yep. Some people try to go big, but usually that doesn't work.

Hehe. It is a strange custom, but... I quite like it.

What was yours? New Year's Resolution, I mean.

Well, I got one that's pretty much eat the most unhealthiest thing I can find.

Whatever for? It sounds a bit detrimental, really.

Well, I suppose... if you want to know, I feel some of the least healthiest foods came from that fair we have a few months back.

Hmm, but that's a quick gimmick. There's gotta be something that is sooooooo unhealthy, it's not sold to the general public.

[This guy will be wandering in shortly - even though he really shouldn't be doing any major amount of movement - wearing a leather flight jacket with an emblem on its sleeve. Even without that jacket, he probably wouldn't really be that cold, unlike Ashura over there.

He decided to at least make an investigation of the kitchen, and takes a notice of Ashura. He guesses he should probably make some effort to be sociable, so he'll give him a slight nod in greeting.]

He sees the other come in and nods in return, tapping the tea pot that was holding cocoa and not tea.]</sub>

If you are wanting something to warm you, I have plenty of mint cocoa.

[He glances at the pot and gives a slight wave of his hand.]

That depends if you're expecting company or not. [He gives a small smirk.] Though it seems like you're the one who needs the warmth, not me

I was not, but I will never say no to it.

_{[He takes the pot and pours some more of the cocoa into a new cup for him.]}

And do I make it so obvious I am no fan of this cold?

[Well, since he'd already done the pouring, it'd be silly to ignore the favor. He needed to sit anyway given that climbing stairs weren't doing a thing for his injuries. Before he sits, he slightly nods towards Ashura - or more specifically, the robe.]

It's easy to tell without it, but that coat gives it away.

Well, my world, it was never very cold, even during winter months. And though I have been here for a number of years, I still will never be able to cope well with cold, I fear. It is just not in my nature.

I can say you probably wouldn't be a fan of my home country then. [He'll lightly chuckle, but then take special notice of a different part of the conversation.]

Years? [He looks slightly surprised.] For how many?

Oh, three or four now. I've lost a bit of count, but it has been some time.

[a fairy flies over, the red glow around her fading as she hovers nearby]

What's that?

_{[He blinked at the little creature, bemused. She looked like one of the fairies that had cause kissing, but this was not the time of year for them...]}

Hot cocoa with mint and whipped cream.

[She lands on the counter, peeking at the cup... That's as big as she is... ]

Oh man that sounds awesome! [wait... Yeah her size might be a problem. She frowns as she tries to figure out a way around that...]

_{[He seems to understand and he smiled, wishing up a thimble. He put a drop of cocoa into it and smiled.]}

There, I think that is more your size.

[She laughs and grins, taking the thimble between her hands, holding it like a teacup]

[little... one... she blows on the cocoa, trying to cool it before she takes a sip]

I'm not normally like this, actually... I'm on a loss.
