[ Did someone order a break-in? No? Well, she'll have to stay anyway until you say so.

But really, this started as her trying to write something, only to realize he would just ignore it and her, so instead she'll be waiting in a nice chair in his room, reading by a single lamp while a wrapped Christmas present sits in her lap. She's even decked out with a Christmas sweater for kicks.

They will talk whether he likes it or not. ]

The people that are from the city don't think like that. They're so easily wary of people from the castle...

[ And she doesn't know why she even still cares. Maybe because she can't help but think of them as her responsibility now. ]

[ This is so much better than "You need to be careful!" Seriously, Lana feels kind of overwhelmed by Kara's simple reaction, so she leans over to hug her. ]

[Whoa! Surprising. Kara laughs, holding her in that hug and giving her a tight squeeze.]

[ That's still so weird to hear. She leans back a bit to peer at her, head tilting. In Smallville, Kara is a friend, but they're not that close. Here, though, the last time Kara was in Paradisa... ]

The last time you were here, you couldn't remember me. It was like there was a large gap in your memory, like you knew I was supposed to be important, but that was all.

[ Lana recalls something else. Sitting at Kara's grave, setting a bouquet of roses there. She hadn't known what kind Kara might like. So her question seemingly comes out of nowhere. ]

Kara, what's your favorite flower? Do you have one?

[She tilts her head slightly.]

Of course you're important. I guess the castle took my memories of you last time, then.

[And flowers? Huh.]

Hmm... never really thought about it. Kal told me about this flower he found once on Ariel, one of Uranus' moons, though. It sounded really pretty. He called it a "Rainbow Flower" –– not very creative, but it works. Why?

[ It's oddly flattering to know you're important enough to be someone's loss. She's happy to get the chance to bond with Kara again, more than they could before, and without relying on Clark to be their bond. ]

It's— Just something I meant to ask you last time, but never got the chance.

[ Rainbow Flower. For something like that, she'd have to ask the castle. She doubts those are sold in the city. ]

I guess it's hard for Earth flowers to compete with that, but I don't think it should count as your favorite if you've never seen it. None that you saw in Kansas or elsewhere that you liked a lot?

Flame lilies, then. I saw them in Zimbabwe, once. Those count.

All right, I'll let those count. If you can teach me to fly, I'll have to get you a bouquet of them.

I would have settled for dinner, but hey, flowers work too.

Do I get to run up a tab or will I have to actually "get a real job", so to speak?

It wouldn't hurt to find a job in the city. I would highly recommend it, in fact. There's no better way to connect with the citizens than to live and work among them.

Then, there's always wishing from the castle. But I would warn against that. Either way, I suppose family should get a discount.

I'm so bad at that, though. I can do an internship at the Planet, because I spend half of it being Supergirl anyway, but retail? In like, hokey Renaissance land? Sounds boring.
