Can we just go with the short answer of I was an idiot?
wilder: (could use some friends for a change)

Yeah, yeah - I know.

[But good this is not the time for Wilder sibling drama]

Anyway, I agreed to their deal but I was immediately skeptical. Never heard of any other Chosen have the title taken away before and there's nothing that special Chosen-wise about me. Figured out pretty quick they had no regard for me. They just wanted to use me- probably would throw me aside once they were through.

Little bit later I was approached by a group called the Renegades. They were bent on bringing Cruxis down, but they weren't exactly a whole lot better. But they offered me the same deal- help them take down Cruxis and I'd be freed.

So, instead of picking one side? I picked both. Did what they ask, all the while playing them off each other until I could decide which ones were worth putting loyalties into.

[Poor poor Gendry]

Years passed. I kept up what I was doing without many incidents.

Then they both asked me to travel with a group that had come from another world, to keep an eye on them. This group seek a way to stop the bloodshed and suffering that'd been going on for millenia. But unlike the other two groups- they weren't interested in doing it by using and killing whomever they saw fit.

[Yeah don't even lie missy you totally care B( ]

Mmhmm.

Took me awhile to warm up to them, so I kept playing all three sides as I had before. But I started seeing that their intentions really were pure and even more than that- they actually treated me like a person. So I found myself feeling more and more loyal to them.

Problem is, of course- they weren't exactly the winning side. That was Cruxis, easily. And if I betrayed Cruxis and lost? Well, let's just say the leader of Cruxis has no mercy for traitors.
wilder: (might as well go all out huh?)

Mithos Yggdrasil, yep. One and the same.

Yep, and completely mad too. He killed his loyal right hand because she called him by the wrong title when she was injured and pleading for help. And she was someone who believed in his ideals and would've followed him to hell itself.

To reunite the worlds and stop Mithos, the group needed the Eternal Sword- a sword crafted by the Summon Spirit King Origin that can manipulate time and space. We knew where it was, but the problem was that Mithos had cursed it so only a person with elven blood could wield it. Not easy when our group's half-elves were mages and not at all fit to wield a two handed sword.

Another person that'd hadn't chosen a side for different reasons approached me with the answer. The curse could be negated if we had a ring crafted out of Aionis, as it's magical properties would make it seem like it was being wielded by an elf. Unfortunately, the only known supply of Aionis was kept deep in the heart of Cruxis's base.

So...I decided to pretend I had fully joined Cruxis, in hopes of reaching the Aionis.

Not quite. The group was already thinking of confronting Mithos for they were running out of options and didn't know about the Aionis. But Cruxis knew they would be coming even without me informing them, and it would be a slaughter.

So to prove my loyalty, I orchestrated a trap that would bring the group into Cruxis without having them slaughtered. And when you seem like you're handing over the people that have been thorns in Mithos's side for quite awhile? You look damn nice.

And then once Mithos was preoccupied, I grabbed the Aionis, freed each person from their traps and pointed them right to his throne room.

wilder: (so yeah like totally)

[He chuckles]

Yeah, you remember that right. And yeah, I could use magic before that- through Cruxis. But I hadn't taken a large enough amount to pass for elven - just enough to use magic.

wilder: (derp you for real?)

[personal profile] wilder 2013-01-13 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Me? Nah.

I was downright terrified.
wilder: (no fair!)
