[ The only games she can think of are monsters-and-maidens and hide-the-treasure and come-into-my-castle only she's too old for them now. She's fought real monsters and hid from those who think her a golden squirrel and she doesn't have a castle for herself anymore. ]

[fantasies]

Ummm... [He squints thoughtfully.] Oh! Cards? Do you know Go-Fish?

[wolfchild]

I know about fishing.

[fantasies]

It's not like real fishing, it's a card game. Do you have some? I can teach you.

[wolfchild]

Not here. You'd have to wish for them.

[fantasies]

Oh. [He looks thoughtful again.] Well, then that's out.

How's it played?

[fantasies]

You try to match pairs of cards. Each person gets a few cards, like seven, and you take turns asking for them. So, if I have a three, I can ask if you do too. If you have one, you give it to me and I can put the pair of cards down. If you don't, you say "go fish" and I have to draw a card. Then it's your turn.

Whoever runs out of cards first wins.

[wolfchild]

We can play on some other day. [ She stretches. ] I'm going to find something to eat.

[fantasies]

Ooh, bring me a cookie.

[wolfchild]

I'm not your servant. [ But when she gets back, she'll have his flipping cookie. :| ]
