[As soon as Tim found himself suddenly transported to a strange new place, he scurried over to a shadow and began to gather intel. Wherever he went, a journal appeared at the area he was inspecting. After awhile he realized it was the same journal appearing over and over. So, he finally picked it up and began to read through it. The entries gave him a decent idea of what was going on. Combing the entries with the view of the sky made it obvious he was no longer on Earth. Tim was no stranger to the multiverse. He knew that the name “Wayne” was recognized in some of the alternative Earths.

When Tim finally dictates an entry of his own, his voice comes out sounding nervous and awkward. Instead of introducing himself as Tim Drake, the ward of multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne, he's Alvin Draper; confused high-school student.]

Okay, so I know there's the whole “be careful what you wish for”, but this is kind of overkill. And by “kind of”, I mean completely. I just wanted to get out of my Calculus test! A fire alarm or sneeze attack would have worked.

[His voice sounds increasingly nervous as he speaks.]

So, uh, my name is Alvin Draper and I'm not from around here. I don't even know if I'm from the same world as this place. This is what I get for wishing I was in all of those sci-fi novels I've read, huh? Ahaha. Seriously, I never going to wish for anything again. Anyway, um, if anyone could let me know what's going on here and how I get back home, that would be great. Thanks.

[ooc: Just as a side note, since Tim's father is in a coma and not dead in his memories, he currently thinks he's the ward of Bruce Wayne and not his adopted son.]

[And off they go. Kara drops them off by the herd. They're surprisingly docile, continuing to meander through the snowy fields. Even more surprisingly, they have no eyes.]

How do they see?

Maybe they rely on their scent and hearing instead. [Takes out a needle and begins to move towards one of the buffalos.]

Knocking them out might not be necessary.

[She approaches, too, curious. She cycles her vision to an x-ray, just to see if there WERE eyes there at any point, and what she sees prompts her to glance over the rest of it. It can't be...]

Uhhh, this is going to sound weird, but there are human body parts inside it.

[Pauses and slooowwlly turns to look at her.]

Human parts like they are part human or like they are still digesting lunch?

[She looks back to the buffalo, then back to Tim, incredulously.]

Part human. Like... there's a human skeleton fused along the spine. The arms reach out towards the jaw. It's huge!

[Hey, don't you judge him. They are in a strange new world. Just because something looks docile it doesn't mean it is.

Reaches into his belt to pull out his recorder. ]

Ise this to make note of everything you see, since you probably won't remember the exact details by the time we return.

[She takes it with a slight frown. Her loss starts to really suck :'( ]

Alright. [She cycles through different visions.] The arm looks like it could come out the jaw, even... And their internal organs are shared. There's a whole human skin system even, but it's inside out...

...[Tim takes a long, hard look at the buffalo. Nothing Kara is saying makes any sense. The only options he can think of currently, is one is acting like a parasite while the other is a host, or maybe it's some kind of wereanimal.]

How many bones does the human skeleton have? Are the two moving in sync with each other or does it look like one is guiding the other?

[She watches them move around for a moment. Hmm.]

They're synced. Whatever human anatomy is in there, they're definitely attached, with only one brain. If it's alive, it's only because it's a part of the buffalo.

[She grimaces.]

Gross.

After we get out sample, we need to track down another animal. [Wants to find out if this is unique to the buffalo or common for this world.]

Sure.

[She's just going to be approaching the nearest and casually reaching out to it to see if it'll spook. Nope? Nope. Good. Kara's just going to hold the big docile critter in place so Tim can do the sciencey stuff.]

[Follows behind her in quick succession and takes out his forensics kit. Draws a couple of vials of blood, gathers some fur, and extracts some drool for saliva testing.]

I'd say "that was easy enough", but I feel like that's asking for a sudden stampede. I'm going to go with "let's get out of here" instead.

Yeah, I don't really want to hang out with part-human buffalo. No thanks.

Do you want to scout ahead and then report back whenever you spot another animal?

Can do.

[Nods at her before moving over to where she had been previously sitting. Holds up the vial of blood in the air and studies it as rays from the sun hit it.]

[She zips off, and is in back within a matter of minutes.]

Lots of them. All the same.

Okay, let's return back to the castle. I want to see if the library has any information on the animals here.

Hopefully. I'd love to know what the point of their screwed-up anatomy is.

[She offers a hand to Tim.]
