Wonderland: Day One

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

[Asuna decides to let that go, finding no point in arguing.]

Wonderland? Is that where I am?

[Oh, that's a shame. She does so love the arguing.]

Yes, yes of course! This is Wonderland. Well, this - [She gestures to the area around her.] - is the Queen of Hearts' Courtyard. However did you end up here, my dear girl?

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. One moment I was somewhere else, and now... Well, you get the idea.

Sounds exactly right for Wonderland! You can't be sure of anything here. It's much more fun than anywhere else, that way.

...Although I'm not sure I've ever been anywhere else.

Never been anywhere else? Then how would you know if it's more fun?

I'm not sure that's... [She pauses, considering something.]

I'll tell you if you'd like, but would you be able to tell me how to get back there?

Hmmm... I might tell you if I knew, but I don't know, so it doesn't much seem to matter.

I see. [She looks a little disappointed to hear that.]

Well, try not to look so sad, pet! That's no fun. Give a little smile, would you?

[That does make her smile a little, and her hand drops from her sword completely. This one doesn't seem hostile.]

Okay, if you can't tell me how to get back, how about a way out of this maze? Would you happen to know that?

I've made it in and out of this maze once before, so there's no reason for us not to try! Are you looking for the castle or the Wood?

Hm, I think the castle! That sounds more promising.

...Ah. Not my first choice, but as you wish! Um...

[She looks around for a moment...]

This way!

Yes, I'm comi-- oh! Hold on a moment!

[Asuna reaches out in front of her and makes a swiping motion, a menu appearing in front of her. A few taps and swipes later, a blank map of the area is brought up with a dot in the center where she stands. She looks up with a smile.]

This should help. It can show us where we've already been if we get lost.

Oh! [That is one of the strangest things she's seen, even by Wonderland standards - or perhaps because it's so unWonderland - but she takes it in delighted stride.] Helpful, helpful, yes! Usually there's fun in getting lost, of course, but around here... No, I'd rather not.

[She gives a kind smile and nods, following along now.]

Why is that, though? Is getting lost here that bad?

Well... Not for you. I am not one of the Queen's favorites, however!

[The Hatter receives a curious glance from Asuna.]

Well, I was killing Time last time I was here, and the Queen didn't like that... Neither did Time...

But it wasn't on purpose.

Killing Time? How were you doing that? I mean, it sounds... hard.

I'm not entirely sure, you know. The Queen just said it was such!
