Wonderland: Day One

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

You've been to the Queen's castle before?!

[She's absolutely certain she doesn't remember this boy passing through the courtyard before today. But if he's going to say things make less sense in the castle, she certainly can't argue that.]

[She ponders this for a moment.]

You must have come a very long way. I didn't know there were other castles in Wonderland!

[She looks around, curious.]

Did you travel all this way alone?

It wasn't in Wonderland. But it is a very mean castle that likes to send us away to places without warning us first.

[Rise gasps quite dramatically at that.]

How awful! You must get very homesick!

Mmm, sometimes. [Though this answer was mostly calculated.]

You poor thing!

[If she detected any hint of calculation, she's ignored it. She flies down a bit closer...]

I don't know much about the rest of Wonderland, but I can help you find your way out! It's far too boring here.

[He conceals his irritation at how she was talking to him. She was also offering help.]

Thank you! But does that mean the rest of Wonderland is less boring?

It certainly is! There's the beach! And Tulgey Wood, although I'd be very careful of the Cheshire Cat there. He's not as helpful as he'd like you to think.

[It's also less dangerous what with all the guards and the Queen here, but she doesn't mean to frighten the poor boy.]

That does sound interesting! [He suspected her motivation in this. But on the other hand he'd already gotten a lot accomplished here.]

Doesn't it?!

[There, sounds like she'll be able to get the boy out of this dreadful place after all! She flies up above, taking a good look at the hedge maze just as a quick refresher, then hovers near the boy again.]

Come on, then. This way!

[She flies off in the direction that'll lead to the exit, a bit slowly so the land-bound boy can keep up.]
