ℙ the twenty first;

[Anyone listening over the journal will possibly hear the wooden snap of clothespins being popped off of the line and a light slosh of water in what may or may not be a sink or basin. Water might splatter onto the page of the journal, since Katherine actually doesn't want to sit around and watch clothing dry.]

Cleaning out a closet and finding shopping bags from Paris, from Christmas last year, that had never even been opened and put away - at least it gave me something to do today.

[Considering Katherine spent nearly her last six months in the castle dealing with corsets and bloomers -- it's no wonder that she didn't dig deep into that closet earlier.]

I will say, hand-washing is the most tedious task to do. [She says this as she hangs up another camisole top onto the line in the laundry room. The laundry room which now has a pile of discarded paper shopping bags and boxes, with colored tissue papers and ribbons all on the floor at her feet. The laundry room where the available lines are strung up with lace bras and frilly things that one would buy in Paris if they had the ability to compel anyone and everyone that was working retail there. The laundry room where anyone is welcome to come and be frustrated that she's taken up all that space.]

It's apparent that your friends are going to continue buying you modern clothing and to help you avoid any moments of someone thinking you are poorly dressed, which should never happen, I'll help you make a look book.

We'll take photos of the combinations of your clothing so that you can know what goes together, without needing to ask someone else for help. [It'll make an impression on your lady, too.]

[Wow, that is a pretty cool gift. Not what he would have asked for last year, but...]

That is very thoughtful of you, Katherine. I look forward to this... look book... and I am sure my modern friends will, too.

Have you used a camera since arriving here?

I have, but not terribly well.

We'll use an instant camera, so you'll be able to see right away if it's done well. Then you can keep the camera when we're through so you can add things to it yourself.

And if I need to call upon you for more help?

Ezio, you are always welcome to call upon me for help.

[Katherine arrives at Ezio's room with the instant camera that she found at one of the shops in the city. She's positive someone had wished it up at some point, because it never seems to run out of film. It was a good use of a wish and now she's going to give it a new purpose.

Knocking on the door, lightly, she waits for him to answer.]

[He opens the door after a moment, having been busy washing his face, but he grins when he opens the door.]

Good afternoon, dolcezza.

[She smiles at him, amused at his grin.]

Good afternoon, yourself.

[He steps back to let her in.]

Come in, come in.

I have pulled most of my clothes from the wardrobe.

[She enters and her hand holds out the camera as if it's the same weight and shape as a glass of wine. ie: casually with a bent wrist.]

This is the camera I'm going to teach you to use. Trust me, this is a gift in and of itself. [She lifts an eyebrow at him.]

[He takes it to look at it.]

It is similar to the one I have.

[Which he grabs off the mantlepiece. Little digital camera :')]

It works almost the same, but you don't need a computer to print out these pictures. This prints them right from the camera.

[She will take it back from him and turn it on herself. Overdramatic winking face is GO! She snaps the picture, the flash going off and nearly blinding her. Then as she blinks away those spots, she hears the film spit the image out in the front of the camera and she tugs it free. Setting it down on the nearby table, she waits.]

It takes the image, printing it on the film. Then when it comes out the front, it forces the chemicals across the film, processing the image while you wait.

[two minutes go by... and the image is done! She picks it up and hands it to him.]

See? Instant photo.

They can be printed? I did not realize they needed those compewtor things.

[Baffling. He doesn't really understand a word she just said, but he can't argue with results.]

Interesting.

[If he wants to know the very specific things, Katherine is actually very intelligent about photography. Being alive during its development tends to help and the fact that Katherine was doing a great deal to avoid being identified and her image passed around - she is very aware of how cameras work. She could explain further, but she's sure he's content with the information as it is.]

Do you only look at them on the small screen on the back? [She's curious.]

Yes. I thought that was the purpose.

[She nods, moving over to the stack of clothing he's set out.]

It is, but it's mostly for previewing them. It can't be easy to want to look for one photo and have to scroll through all of them. [She will find you a printer for those. A simple one-button press type one.]

I see. ["Pre"-viewing... Like seeing a rough copy or something? Huh.]

I supposed it would be useful to be able to see them with more ease, and share them with others.

I'll handle that. Right now, though, we're going to start handling this project.

[Ezio you are giving her a to-do list. This is good. She needs small projects that are easy to accomplish.]

Let's just start sorting these into some outfits. I'll match them up and we'll go with whichever one has the most options. [la la la... something to distract her...]
