23 - Jugem Memory - Dictated, lobby action

... For those who knew him, have been told Dhaos is no longer in the castle.

[ ... Again. Although in this case he was told by Dhaos' Tyrannitar, who seems to have adopted him, rather than by talking to the man again and... finding he didn't remember him. He's not sure which is worse.

At least the large pokemon was friendly to his cat and altaria- ]

... not related in the least; how has age been tracked here? Or is it of no importance...

[ Totally not asking because he realized his had passed. Honestly. ]

[ And after that, Duke will settle in the lobby - even more out of the way than usual, because he is most uncomfortable with his current... attire. The coat he wishes up doesn't stay on for more than a few minutes at a time, much to his discomfort, so it ends up sitting on the floor about him as he stops paying attention to it and pays more attention to... magic. He would have done this on the roof again, but with all the snow, it was a quick way to both get cold and burnt.

The corner of the lobby where Duke sits is lit up with flickers of red, green, purples of both bright and near black, and warm gold as he works on... something.

And anyone who talked with the sphinx in wonderland might recognize how he looks- granted, he doesn't have a cat's body or wings anymore, but the coloring is the same. ]

((OOC: loss! Duke is taking the appearance of his third boss-fight from Tales of Vesperia. This means he glows a little and has metal-and-rock things in his skin, and probably feels like a bit too much magic in one place. At least he isn't crazy?))

[Conan easily recognized him. That coloring combination was difficult to miss. But what was he doing? He silently moves closer, trying to avoid notice for now.]

[ Fortunately, Duke is rather focused on what he's doing - which looks like he has some sort of glowing keypad that he types math out on, which glows as he moves it into place in a long chain of math. Something about area and duration and frequency, all in a glowing bright purple.

Pushing his palm at it causes it to swirl and flare brighter and ... Fizzle, like a large amount of static. Duke frowns at that. ]

[Conan creeps closer and watches all of this intently.]

[ Still frowning, Duke recreates that fizzing-sparking noise and all its associated math, then holds that to one side, pulling up a glowing gold sphere of math that produces a small field of brightly glowing rain. He focuses on the two different sections, then adjusts the purple one to be a little closer to the gold one.

the result is more crackling than fizzing. ]

Alter the effects of this - [ another sphere of math, one that produces a large lance-like blade of violet, crackling like a lightning strike. ]

To mimic the effects of this alteration. [ A small square of gold, with a variety of lances stabbing at it, followed by that golden light-rain. ]

Should be possible. Simply a little harder to tell problems.

.... Formula, which is home-world word for 'spell', simply on small scale as inside... Particular one is combat oriented, Thunder Blade. Should be similar enough to Holy Lance...

[ And he's focusing on the math again. Maybe he needs to alter Thunder Blade to closer to Holy Lance first, before trying to make ... Thunder Rain? ]

[Felix picks up on the feeling of Duke's magic far before he even sees the man, but once he finds him, he has to stare a few moments to really be sure that it is him.

He approaches cautiously.]

Yes. It is.. Castle, unless managed to eat a large quantity of fish-mages while a sphinx. [ It's something that happens when he tries to absorb a large amount of mana. ]

Was, previous time.. [ He sort of clicks the gauntlets to that larger metal thing.. In his torso ] because of a great deal of magic about and a stubborn desire to keep fighting.

[ He tried to gather it all and use it, even if the triggering of the magic had been completely accidental. ]

I hope it is more like the created crystal, as thus it is not a fragment of a life. I hope it is not, because the other who had something similar to this had one because he no longer had a heart.
