Skit 6: Far from home

This is a long time to be gone from Lhant. When we were all traveling together, it didn't seem so bad. But now it's just me... I know that they won't worry because I'll go back, but I miss them a lot.

I wonder what they would think of this place? Should I want them to come, or be happy they're home where they belong?

[Rise's been "alone" here since she arrived. She's used to traveling around a lot, but still. She misses her friends back home too.]

But I think they'd understand that you miss them and just want to be together again. Does it really matter if it's here or back home?

[But who's Cheria? And how is she supposed to know why they sound alike?]

Wait, you sound familiar too. Have we met?

[That's it, maybe she's just getting her name wrong.]

[Maybe telling her she wasn't Cheria really upset her? Ugh, now she feels really bad about it!]

Is Cheria a friend from home? Someone you miss?

Yes. She looked after me.

[She's not sure what to say. She feels like she got the poor girl's hopes up and then destroyed them.]

I'm sorry I'm not her. I have friends and family that I miss back home, too. You even kind of sound like a girl I know from school.

[Yep, she figured it out. Aika Nakamura, the delivery girl. Which reminds her...]

My name is Sophie. I've never been to school.

How old are you?

What about Cheria-san? Is she around your age?

[She wasn't signing up for a mystery here, she just wanted to know if Sophie was close to her own age!]

No. Cheria is a young woman. [and Sophie is... whatever she is]

Is she older or younger than you?

I mean, if you could guess. I'm sixteen, so if we sound alike we must be close to the same age!

I'm fourteen. [yep just gonna give the same answer she gave Asbel years ago, even if it's not true]

[Whew, finally! Hey, maybe she helped her figure it out!]

Oh, so you're almost my age! Cool!

[So Cheria was probably an older girl she looked up to? She still feels guilty about the confusion, even if it's not her fault.]

Hey, wanna hang out sometime? You sounded like you could use another friend.

[she's pretty sure she's actually much older than that, but since she sounds and looks like a child, that'd be difficult to explain]

What kind of things do you like to do for fun?

I like taking care of flowers.

I like lots of things! Shopping, going to amusement parks - well, I guess you can't do those here, huh? There's a game room, though. And sometimes a beach, too!

I like the beach! I have a swimsuit.

Perfect! A friend of mine suggested we have a beach day a while back. Just us and some other girls from around the castle. Want me to let you know when we have a date?

[She can't really think of a reason why she couldn't invite Sophie, after all. She and Kara hadn't set any rules or anything.]
