 Would anyone like to come over to the kitchen for some tea?  I just started the kettle.

There were some interesting varieties in the back of the cupboard.  It does look like someone has already used most of  the mint and earl grey, but I found some very nice green teas and some interesting looking herbals.

The castle lays enchantments as well?

Of a sort; I have a way to dispel magic that is most familiar, but does not work on anything castle has done. [ Like personal losses. ]

At home we generally waited until a youngest son came by on a quest to fix that sort of thing. There was really no point in doing anything sooner. Everyone knew only youngest sons succeed.

[There was also the solution that involved a kiss from a princess, but that usually only worked on enchanted frogs and hedgehogs.]

Likely because enchantment is... unfamiliar for things not inanimate.

Items, be they books, weapons, shields, have been known to hold enchantments, usually those that interact with certain kinds of bracelets, necklaces, or other items known as bodhi blastia. Enchantment upon a living thing? That is unknown.

Then what happens to people when they eat the wrong berries or are rude to the wrong person?

If they eat the berries that only birds may safely consume, usually severe sickness then death. Depending on what 'the wrong person' has available, the results are from mild injury or embarrassment to exile or death.

.. Sounds more violent. [ Maybe her world is a little... safer? due to these things... ]

[And off he goes to the kitchen! He arrives quite quickly, though not too quickly, and looks around for the poster...]

[He'll see a pretty girl in her late teens fussing over the stove. She was dressed in a sensible-looking red dress with her sleeves rolled up and a blue checked apron tied around her waist. Her hair was black, and gathered into two long sensible braids. And on her head was a golden crown. ]

[Meanwhile, she'll note a guy in his mid thirties, wearing a t-shirt and jeans, blonde hair close-cropped. He has an easy way about him, unassuming but with strong posture. And he's tall.]

Are you the one with the tea?

That's right. What kind would you like?

Black tea. Any kind, really. Something to wake me up would be nice.

[He's not quite sure what to do, so he takes a seat at the first convenient place.]

[He's a little surprised that she moves on without question, though it doesn't show on his face.

Normally he's one to talk more, but she comes off as pretty intense. He'd hate to interrupt that.]

[She brings the tea over on a small tray and sets it on the table. Then she sits down with her own cup.]
