Um! H-Hello, everyone... [Colette might sound just a tiny bit sheepish as she talks over the journal. Have you ever been in that situation where something big happened in your life, but it was a private matter? And then you're not sure if you should be telling people that it happened, because it's not exactly something that comes up easily in casual conversation? So now the time has come that you actually have a question for a lot of people regarding this new development, BUT YOU STILL HAVEN'T TOLD ANYONE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Life is hard. So Colette sounds a touch... nervous as she regards the journal. It's definitely a good kind of nervous, but still. Nerves.]

Every year around the same time, a lot of people here celebrate a holiday called Valentines day! Its a holiday from Earth, I think, where people do special things for the people that they really care about.

[it's not coming up super soon, but still, two and a half weeks. That's soon-ish.] So! Um, I've celebrated the holiday before, but I was wondering... If you're suppose to do something different if there's someone that you really like, and they said that they like you too, and you might be... dating?

I-I'm not sure! People from Earth have told me that it's a really important holiday, but I'm not sure if you're supposed to do something different in this case...

Well...what kind of holiday is it? Is it like that Christmas one? You know, spending time with friends and giving gifts?

A little bit! I was told before that it was about love. So a lot of people would give chocolate or candy to their friends and loved ones... So that they know how much they mean to you.

How does candy show how much a person means to someone?

[hehe, Colette giggles] I'm not really sure... I always assumed it was because candy is yummy, and a lot of people like it?

[She thinks for a moment.]

And people usually share candy, don't they? You think that might be it?

[But why a special day for that? She shares candy and cookies and other things with her friends all the time.]

Filter (Don't even worry sweetheart, I was out of commission all last week, orz)

I don't know if they share it... Maybe? I never asked what people do with the gifts after I give it to them. [hm, maybe she should do that!]

Filter (I'm having a week like that myself. :( )

Wait a second... No one's ever offered you a piece of the candy you've given them? That doesn't sound right...

Well, if someone starts to eat it right away, then sometimes they do! But mostly I see people save it for later.

But wouldn't it be polite to eat it right away and share? Or is it better to save it?

[Sheena's been doing the first thing, since it seems fair to her.]

I don't know... I guess everyone receives gifts differently.

Yeah, I guess they do. [She pauses.] But you don't have to give just candy do you? I mean, it's not a rule or anything, is it?

I don't think so. As long as it's a gift that would make them happy, I'm sure that's the important thing.

So do you have any idea what you're going to be doing? Other than eating candy?

No, I'm not sure yet. But I hope I'll be able to think of something.

What are you going to do, Sheena?

I'm sure you will.

[She's totally unprepared for the question coming back to her, and she's quiet for a moment before answering.]

Probably nothing. It doesn't sound like a holiday I'd be able to celebrate.

[Not when her social life is a bit messed up right now.]

[Nothing much. She just kissed two people she really shouldn't have, both leading to unexpected feelings about both, while the one person she had hoped to kiss had left while she was in the DZ ignoring the journals, so she never knew he cared for her. Until she came back.

[Okay. Now's the time for Sheena to come clean. To admit to what a fool she's been and tell Colette what had happened. To get this weight off her chest and maybe figure out what to do to correct her mistakes.

Yep, that's exactly what she needs to do. Colette's her friend; she won't judge her or make her feel bad. Instead, she'll try to help. Coming to a decision, she replies.]

Sorry. There's really nothing wrong. I guess I'm still trying to figure out all these holidays. One right after the other here.

[OLD HABITS DIE HARD, OKAY? Besides, she doesn't want Colette worrying about her and ruining her own happiness. THAT'S NOT A COOL THING TO DO.]
