[Evan couldn't fly. He knows it, but he didn't really know it. He was basing his assumption entirely on his entrance to Paradisa, and his setting the lobby on fire when he'd done so, and had otherwise been avoiding actively trying to fly, in case he embarrassed himself trying. That's why, tonight, anyone who comes out to the roof will see a young gray-skinned young man standing on the ledge, trying and repeatedly failing to leap from the ledge, only to crash spectacularly on the pavement below. It doesn't actually hurt him, but it does leave boy-sized craters every time he lands.]
So...uhh...I know what my loss is, but...how specific are they? If someone had lost the ability to fly, for example, would they be able to fly if like...someone threw them, or if someone who could fly gave them sort of a running start? I'm kinda curious to see what the limitations are. If...uhh...you're someone who could help, meet me up on the roof.
[After that, he'll resume his attempts, his journal open and catching his repeated failed attempts, which sound like someone falling from a great height, and then scaling the castle's outer wall over and over. feel free to reply over the journal, or ogle the insanity in person.]

Please don't encourage people to throw you off the roof.

Oh. I...guess I didn't realize that's how it sounded. Where I come from, there's something called a "Fastball Special", which is when a big strong person picks up and throws a smaller person into the air, so they can get someplace they normally couldn't reach, or attack something way bigger than they are. I was curious to see if it would work on me.
no subject
And what happens if you miss whatever they're throwing you at?
no subject
Well, if it was me they were throwing, I'd probably just stretch my legs down so I could land without crashing...assuming I could get my legs under me in time. I'm not too worried about falling, since it takes a lot to really hurt me. That's why I'm practicing now.

You sure the same applies to you in the castle? The rules look to be different here, you might not be as hard to hurt as you think.

He stands and watches as Evan flings himself to the ground, gets up and repeats.]
Well, this makes my day just that much better.
[He watches silently for a while. Just enjoying the show, until it starts to get embarrassing for the kid.]
Hey kid! You know the definition of insanity right?
no subject
I know, I know. It's when you do the same thing over and over and expect something to change.
[He sighs.]
I'm just trying to see if there's a way I can get around my loss. I don't like not being able to fly, you know?
no subject
[He shrugs]
Maybe you could try doing something else?
no subject
You've got a point. It just bugs me...but I suppose that's the whole point of these losses, to get under our skin.
[He thinks on it for a moment.]
Well...I've never tried hang-gliding, maybe that'd work?
no subject
Hang-glider, hot air balloon, just stop fuckin' throwing yourself off the roof. Not that watching you make an idiot of yourself isn't fun and all.

That just makes me hear Peter's Theme while Evan is tossing himself repeatedly to his non-doom XD
at least Evan's not making videos of it :|
Hi! I'm Evan Sabahnur, and welcome to Jackass! Alternately "Evan falls while I play unfitting music"
/facepalm
Why not try that for a while?
It's a terrible mental image, isn't it? XD

I could try giving you a boost, if you'd like - you'd be lighter than most adult humans.
[Mutants: where throwing each other around seems totally normal]
no subject
[You've just said exactly what Evan's been wanting to hear.]
Would you? That'd be great! I know it's not exactly a Fastball Special, but it's worth a try, right?
no subject
Where are you right now?
no subject
I'm up on the roof right now. I've been trying a couple of different ways to make myself fly, but nothing's worked for more than a second or two.
[-> action?]
I'll meet you up there in a few minutes, then.
[And true to his word, he makes his way to the roof fairly quickly after he closes the journal - he's getting to know the lay of the castle pretty well by now]
