Alright, so... I know Valentine's Day is about red romance, since humans don't have any other kind. But as I do not have a matesprit anyway, I want to do something for my kismesis instead. The thing is... I'm not entirely sure what I should do? Should I get her a present, or take her on a hate date, or... I don't know, wreck her respiteblock? But I don't want her to wreck mine... Oh, alright! I'd be happy to answer any questions I can, though I'm not really an expert. When we're younger our eyes are black, but they fill in with our blood color as we age. So a blueblood will have blue eyes, a yellowblood will have yellow eyes, and so on.

But we do that every time we talk.

Well, that's just it. There's really only one person I can say I hate at all, and my friend Wade killed him for killing my uncle Cluster. I...don't really have it in me to hate someone, otherwise.

So, trolls have all sorts of different blood colors, that's really cool! It must have something to do with a chemical in your bloodstream. Humans have red blood because of the iron content in our blood, and when it's deoxygenated, it turns sort of a purple color.

That's alright, too. You could always have something like... a friendly rivalry instead! That would be sort of like a kismesis, but with less potential for either injury or kissing.

Yeah, maybe. I sparred with that guy Dave, and we were pretty evenly matched. I think we were both holding back though.

Yup. Blood is only bright red when it's oxygenated. Once it's run its course through a person's body, it turns a very dark red, almost purple color due to a change in the way the hemoglobin in our blood absorbs light.
