family reunion day 3; dated to 7:00 PM
[Perhaps it's the hand of providence. Perhaps it's the unseen, unknown yet still present hand of an omniscient magical castle. Perhaps someone had a surplus left over from July 4th...
Whatever the reason, it seems like resort employees are compelled to deliver boxes of fireworks around for the enjoyment of families currently staying at the resort. For families to shoot off themselves! What could possibly be more fun than that? There are sparklers and rockets and pretty much anything fireworks-ey you can imagine, for the whole family to enjoy. For EVERYONE in the whole family to enjoy.
Do try not to burn down your cabin, as you'll be paying for it if you do! Aim rockets to go out over the lake. Otherwise, enjoy.]

Who bought the fireworks?
no subject
Fireworks!! Fireworks, really?? GLaDOS, let me, can I?
[This is the brother you've inherited, GLaDOS. Enjoy your life choices.]
no subject
... Do you know how to set them off? [ Just making sure these brothers aren't all complete morons before handing potentially dangerous things to them. ]
no subject
[Look at this face. The man behind it loves to set things on fire and watch them explode.]
no subject
[ She's used to Wheatley calling himself a professional and then promptly nearly killing himself over these kinds of things, so no matter what, she's going to keep an eye on you. ]
no subject
[He flings his arms around her in a friendly hug and gives her a squeeze before taking the box of fireworks and hurrying off with it, calling over his shoulder]
Near the lake will be the best place to shoot them off!
no subject
Are you really planning on setting them all off alone?
no subject
But you're welcome to accompany me. You're family now, after all!
no subject
And... part of the family. She wasn't sure how to feel about that... but it was a little... happy? Even if it seemed to be a family of imbeciles, she rationalized. ]
Alright. [ she replied, feeling a bit less random for following him. ] You really seem to like fireworks.
[ Notice how terrible she is at conversation........... ]
no subject
[it's okay, because he's lost in his own little world of romance for a moment until he reaches the lake's edge and starts setting up.]
Consider this fireworks show a... late wedding present?
[He flashes a huge grin.
What an ego he has about this.]no subject
... Ah. Thank you, then. [ she replied, a little taken aback. He really seemed to like her right away... okay, it definitely must run in the family. ]
Are you married?
no subject
[Cue the nervous laughter; he drops the firecracker he's trying to stand at an angle in the dirt.]
There's not... ah...
[That's all. He fades into muttering something about Roman candles.]
no subject
It's not a big deal. [ She doesn't really get how flustered he becomes, instead opting to cross her arms. ] ... so what about Roman candles?
[ Maybe picking up talking about fireworks would help. What is socializing. ]
no subject
[He hands her one.]
Hang on to that for later.
[Pause]
...so... you and Wheats are happy together, huh?
no subject
her face turns red at the mention of them being happy together. ]
I... yes, we're doing fine. [ she says, her voice a little stilted. She isn't about to gush about how amazing her husband is... but she really does love him. ]
no subject
Good! I'm glad to hear that. Because... if he wasn't making you happy, I'd have to beat him up.
no subject
No, he's fine. [ she reinforces. The poor man got hit enough by her; as funny as setting his brother against him might be, she wasn't that cruel. ] You don't need to hit him.
no subject
[And he stands up, brushes his hands off and admires his setup.]
...ready to get started?
[Because there was definitely a lighter included in that fireworks package, and he's clicking it on with a smile.]
no subject
Yes, I'm ready. [ She wonders how this is going to go.......... ]
no subject
[This isn't supposed to be as serious as it sounds. He kneels to light the first cluster of firecrackers and then scurries away a safe distance to watch them sizzle out above the lake and explode, reflecting their color in the water below.]
no subject
The fireworks were beautiful; GLaDOS watches them, not as taken as Phoenix clearly was, but still impressed. It had been awhile since she had watched fireworks... ]
That's... quite nice, [ she commented, looking down at the reflections of the colors on the lake as they finished exploding. ]
/casually threadjacks
...They are as stars in miniature, igniting from chemical compounds at birth, hurtling across a great distance as fast as they can before becoming a beautiful explosion of lights.
ffff sorry i missed this earlier!
However, as soon as the they have burned out, he lets out a whoop and then turns to his audience with a big stupid smile.]
Don't take this so seriously! Just enjoy it!
[And he hurries off to light another set.]
IT'S OKAY
But she shook it off, giving him a small smile. ]
They are rather beautiful, aren't they?
[ before turning to Phoenix. His enthusiasm was a bit infectious, she noticed, as her smile widened a bit. ]
I'll give you credit. You are really good at this.
