Pie day was pretty clever of the castle. It isn't something I've heard of, but being an inspired and hopeful engineer, the number is an important part of mathematics and physics.

Speaking of, I was thinking about the idea of a school again. I don't know how many qualified teachers there are, but is anyone willing to become one? I know we have many people who have studied a variety of things, and it can be beneficial to anyone who wants to pick up a class or two.

The subject is up to you.

Both very good subjects. Is your brother more of the mathematician? He's not here, I take it?

I'm good with numbers, but I prefer to build. My brother-- he is more of the everything. He reads and retains everything. We had a vast library before it burned down.

It sounds as though you look up to him Violet. If your brother is anything like yourself I would have liked to have met him. I'm sorry to hear about your library. Was this before you came to Paradisa?

It was nearly two years before I came here. My parents were murdered in the same fire that took our home.

Oh, Violet, I- [He is at a loss for words for a moment.] To lose your parents so young, I can't begin to imagine the difficulties you've encountered. I am very sorry.

Thank you, Doctor. But if that was the only thing I had to deal with, it would have been an easier life.

[He fidgets, running his thumb along the leaves of the journal while thinking for a moment. He wants to ask, but doesn't think he should.] 

I don't wish to pry and for so difficult a life I never would have guessed from our talks. But I can be a good listener should you need one. Any time, just call.

...I have a library here, should you have need of it. I imagine you've worked your way through what Paradisa has to offer in the way of books.

You've always been a kind listener, Doctor. Always. [He had been there during some traumatic moments for her. If only he remembered.]

Oh, there's still loads of manuscripts and blueprints, but yours is far more fascinating.

[Quiet for a moment, the past tense is noted and no, he doesn't remember. It makes him unhappy that he is missing so much, in this case especially so.]

You've been before to the TARDIS library, I take it? You are welcome to come by at any time. If you're going to teach others, you need to know what to teach after all.

...What about your education Violet? Do you still want to learn?

I lived in the TARDIS with you for awhile. [She admits. She only renovated the second floor of the shop when he left.]

Of course I do. I learn something new everyday.

[He makes another pause. So she's more familiar with his home than he thinks. Not unkindly at all, but he has to ask the question.] Ah. Is there anything else important I should know about you, from before? When I was here last?

[A small trace of humour in his voice.] As much as I enjoy putting my foot in it, it could save us embarrassment later.

[Oh, don't we all.] Physics. Philosophy. Languages. History, of course. For your school. And yourself if you want to.

I think there's a lot, Doctor. You were here for a long time. But I don't mind starting over. Besides I'm glad to just have you back. [He was the first guardian figure for her.]

I wouldn't mind learning anything from you. Though it's not my school. I haven't the first clue as to start it.

Why not make it your school? As for starting, people to teach and people to learn I'm sure you'll have. It would be a matter of bringing them together, and for that you would need a location. Are there any buildings in the town that are not in use or would anyone be willing to let you use their place? It might be worthwhile asking around.

I don't know of any empty buildings that could fit such a place.

I think the weather changes too much to ever hold something outdoors. I can ask though.
