Can't help but feel like my time here's just been wiped. It hasn't been as long as some, but six months is the longest I've been in one place since my parents died.

I'm back to making the lab equipment. Paris was a nice break, but it's nice to be back. Think I'm going to be spending some time in the library. Those haven't been wiped, right? [Hopefully.]

Your old journal should be around here somewhere. And even then, you still have memories, right?

I've been copying out things from the old journal that I'd like to keep in the new one, just because we don't know how long the old journals will be around, or last. I wouldn't be surprised if this had happened before, which is why things belonging to earlier generations never appeared in our journals.

Personally, I wonder if this is how historians in pre-technological eras felt, especially in times before printing presses. It's harder to ensure that information is passed down to those who come after us if we can't guarantee the information will be available anymore.

It really does. I'm probably not going to miss the old, random conversations with strangers, but the really important stuff will stick with me.

Better yet, if you go back and copy them, keep them in a personal journal, not one run by the castle. Have a bunch of different copies. If one gets damaged, you still have it.
