For those who have not already been made aware in some manner, you ought be confided in that Elizabeth Tudor is no longer herself. That is, the self that was originally brought to Cair Paradisa. She is a young blossom again, one that blooms despite the storm it has suffered. This makes her no less strong as a Tudor rose ought to be, but if I find that any darken her days during this time with news of her future, the penalty will be grievous.

No matter the heinous misgivings she spews because of that usurper Mary, she is a princess, and will be treated with no less respect than is befitting one. So when she requests for someone to help her dress, she had best not be left wanting.

It is a shame that there has been no priest for the church since my arrival. Will today's vigil be without proper guidance as well? Come now, as many as there are here, I cannot imagine there to be no priest among you.

There was my brother near two months back, though his departure was untimely. Both for the occasion and for not having met you yet.

That is correct, I had nearly forgotten of the Cardinal's presence.

[ That is quite the question. Even Lucrezia isn't so sure, but he is kind to her and those who are truly family. Kindest. To the rest, well. ]

He is kind to those who deserve so. Is that what you would seek from a priest?

[ No because that means he would burn her at the stake on religion alone. Then again, Thomas More would have done it, too, and he was nice enough...to Henry. He wasn't even a priest. ]

God is all forgiving. A cleric may only intercede.

But not before all involved have been wounded, I imagine. Is that not the castle's greatest desire? To whittle away at our souls until we are less than nothing, with nothing to believe in and nobody to love?

That's still up for debate. [As in, nobody likes to talk about it. He gets that feeling either way.] Although I haven't heard anyone come to that conclusion as fast before.

I wonder if that is impossible for those born to a higher cause.

I've always thought that the castle had favorites.

[ Anne wouldn't be surprised to be deemed a 'favorite'. She has after all claimed rule over it. Perhaps it really is punishing her, but she doesn't want to be beaten. She just doesn't know where to start this time. And she had so much of everything else planned, too. ]

It is not the castle. All the castle does is take the truth and drain any light from it, to pretend at holding a mirror up to your soul and then claiming it is God's work.

It is not an enemy any man would know how to fight, let alone a woman.

Fear not, I know well the burden of foreknowledge. I would not place it on her shoulders.
