It is a shame that there has been no priest for the church since my arrival. Will today's vigil be without proper guidance as well? Come now, as many as there are here, I cannot imagine there to be no priest among you.
For those who have not already been made aware in some manner, you ought be confided in that Elizabeth Tudor is no longer herself. That is, the self that was originally brought to Cair Paradisa. She is a young blossom again, one that blooms despite the storm it has suffered. This makes her no less strong as a Tudor rose ought to be, but if I find that any darken her days during this time with news of her future, the penalty will be grievous.
No matter the heinous misgivings she spews because of that usurper Mary, she is a princess, and will be treated with no less respect than is befitting one. So when she requests for someone to help her dress, she had best not be left wanting.

[ Later, since she didn't get the chance to finish her first attempt at filtering to him; ]
You have seen?
[ If you don't know what she's talking about, you're bad at your job! Ten percent decrease in pay. ]

He's actually lucky that she's asking after his vacation in "space". And that her daughter announced she was going for a walk over the journals, so he could happen to be near a window as she walked through the garden.]
She looks good for her age. [...he'll learn how to talk to queens someday.]
Spike
This is no jest! She is now more vulnerable than ever, and has no recollection of my banishment. She is free of care, it seems, in my presence at the very least.
[ Which is what any mom wants, right? No, she sounds conflicted even about that. You suck, castle. ]
Though I suspected she may not be my true daughter, now I do not know what to think. She is so much like me. But I know this castle has made realistic imitations of us in the past. Is it possible she is just a creation of the castle, to taunt me?
Anne
It usually doesn't keep something like that up for this long. [But who knows?]
Spike
But not before all involved have been wounded, I imagine. Is that not the castle's greatest desire? To whittle away at our souls until we are less than nothing, with nothing to believe in and nobody to love?
Anne
That's still up for debate. [As in, nobody likes to talk about it. He gets that feeling either way.] Although I haven't heard anyone come to that conclusion as fast before.
Spike
Anne
Spike
It is not the castle. All the castle does is take the truth and drain any light from it, to pretend at holding a mirror up to your soul and then claiming it is God's work.
It is not an enemy any man would know how to fight, let alone a woman.
Anne
You should never underestimate a woman with a grudge.
Spike
Anne
I've only heard secondhand.
Spike
Should I make that my goal, then, rather than concern myself with the people's unity? They clearly do not want any guidance. They are nothing but barbarians, so they would no doubt relish the chance to destroy the castle with brute strength.
[ Maybe she's had a little bit of wine, despite Easter. Seeing Elizabeth was very stressful, okay. ]
Anne
You might have a better shot, if you can get enough of them on board.
Spike
Anne
It's hard to push anything without guarantees.
Spike

Spike
Anne
Sorry. Kind of a morbid topic.
Spike
[ But she already suspects he's turned his back on God, if they even know of His glory where Mars is, so that news is probably not comforting. It's much too easy for her to add on, ]
For any man who treats death as a shadow, it will do naught but follow him. If he were to treat it as a friend, then it would walk at his side willingly.
Anne
What about someone who lost sight of it.
Spike
[ She wasn't so drunk as to not remember most of what they discussed, especially in that vein. It's always on her mind. ]
Anne
That must be a popular opinion.
