For those who have not already been made aware in some manner, you ought be confided in that Elizabeth Tudor is no longer herself. That is, the self that was originally brought to Cair Paradisa. She is a young blossom again, one that blooms despite the storm it has suffered. This makes her no less strong as a Tudor rose ought to be, but if I find that any darken her days during this time with news of her future, the penalty will be grievous.

No matter the heinous misgivings she spews because of that usurper Mary, she is a princess, and will be treated with no less respect than is befitting one. So when she requests for someone to help her dress, she had best not be left wanting.

It is a shame that there has been no priest for the church since my arrival. Will today's vigil be without proper guidance as well? Come now, as many as there are here, I cannot imagine there to be no priest among you.

There was my brother near two months back, though his departure was untimely. Both for the occasion and for not having met you yet.

That is correct, I had nearly forgotten of the Cardinal's presence.

[ Not really, but he doesn't count, because he's Catholic. Thank goodness he's gone or this could have been awkward! ]

I would have been honored to meet him. Is he a kind man?

[ That is quite the question. Even Lucrezia isn't so sure, but he is kind to her and those who are truly family. Kindest. To the rest, well. ]

He is kind to those who deserve so. Is that what you would seek from a priest?

[ No because that means he would burn her at the stake on religion alone. Then again, Thomas More would have done it, too, and he was nice enough...to Henry. He wasn't even a priest. ]

Are priests not to be forgiving?

God is all forgiving. A cleric may only intercede.

[Calm down, he's been paying attention. (Even if Spike's still questioning the job. Please tell him that someone who can put up a decent fight is going to try murdering her soon. -- But it isn't like he has other offers right now.)

He's actually lucky that she's asking after his vacation in "space". And that her daughter announced she was going for a walk over the journals, so he could happen to be near a window as she walked through the garden.]

She looks good for her age. [...he'll learn how to talk to queens someday.]

This is no jest! She is now more vulnerable than ever, and has no recollection of my banishment. She is free of care, it seems, in my presence at the very least.

[ Which is what any mom wants, right? No, she sounds conflicted even about that. You suck, castle. ]

Though I suspected she may not be my true daughter, now I do not know what to think. She is so much like me. But I know this castle has made realistic imitations of us in the past. Is it possible she is just a creation of the castle, to taunt me?

[Spike doesn't seem to be put off by her tone, but he backs off once he can tell she's upset. Which makes giving an honest answer harder for him. There's nothing the castle isn't capable of, as far as he's concerned.]

It usually doesn't keep something like that up for this long. [But who knows?]

Then nothing at all has been fixed. This version is just a lie, meant to end soon?

But not before all involved have been wounded, I imagine. Is that not the castle's greatest desire? To whittle away at our souls until we are less than nothing, with nothing to believe in and nobody to love?

I was told of Lent. We have no such thing in the religions of my home, neither Old nor New Gods. [It seems many celebrate it here. It explains why there is a Church at least, but still no sept nor godswood.]

The old gods ask little of men. Mayhaps the Seven listen. My father was named in the light of the seven, but there is little humility. One can pray to the Mother for mercy.
