THE EVENT HORIZON - DAY TWO

[Something during the night has activated the ship's gravity core. There seems to be no evidence as to what caused it. Everything within the ship remains stable, but the ship itself shakes violently, and deep in the bowels, a ominous rumbling sound can be heard]

[David thinks for a second.]

One either end. Try not to push or pull too much. Unless we have something to set the fractures.

Oh yeah, I'll pull some braces out of my pockets, hold on. [he shoots Once a quick glance. the snark helps dull the pain, it is a legitimate strategy]

I'd better take his head, it's full of hot air and weird songs, you might hurt yourself if you do it, since you don't know him.

[Welp, looks like he was useless now. Danny really did need to actually learn this first aid stuff one of these days.]

I'm going to have to pull this tight, but it should keep your knee in place.

[He looks to Danny.]

Could you run ahead? Get someone to meet us half-way? I don't want to be carrying this guy for long. We might cause further damage.

Think of it as a new fashion statement. Soon everyone will be wearing them. .... And what did that Vriska girl look like? Someone should keep an eye out for her. If we can stop her from hurting anyone else, it'd probably be good.

[Danny takes a few steps back and gives them a mocking salute.]

Consider it done.

[And with that he takes off running for the clinic.]

[David is shaking a bit as he wraps his belt around the Once-ler's leg.]

This is going to hurt.

[And he tightens it as much as he can.]

[he'd watched Katniss' mother treat enough wounds back in the Seam, seen her deal with things like this before, and there was something she always did for the miners before she did anything that brought pain - he couldn't remember it fast enough, though, and by the time he begins to think "we should give him something to bite down on", the Once-ler's eyes roll back in his head and he's out for the count.

wincing, Gale checks his pulse]

It's okay, he's just out. But now we'd better move him fast. Let me know when you're ready, we'll do it on three. [he nods down the hall] Clinic's that way.

[deltacain]

I'm ready.

[That was sloppy. Says Delta, in the depths of his mind.

David ignores him, crouching by the Once-ler's feet.]

Okay - one... two ... three!

[and then they're lifting him up off the floor. it may not be the smoothest lift, but it's quick, and it'll do. the two of them are close enough to the same height that Once isn't being carried unevenly, either.

all things considered, it could be going a LOT worse]

[David does manage to get him up and hold him mostly smoothly.

Then he's going to start walking, backwards, towards Medical. Keeping quiet.]

[Gale's equally quiet, focused on the task at hand, and listening....

.....eventually he hears the canary again, and starts. luckily he doesn't drop Once on his head, at least]

[David pauses, feeling the slight jolt.]

You okay?

[right. getting Once to the clinic now, yeah.]

I thought I heard something. But I'm fine...

There are a lot of things to hear... I'm trying to ignore them.
