[Dictated]
Hi everyone! Since the journals all got a clean out, I think it's time we make a good guide for all the newcomers to help clear things up! And since I'm a charitable guy with a lot of time on my hands, I went ahead and did it!
THE NEWGUY'S NEWCOMER'S GUIDE TO PARADISA!
by the great Professor Zelos Wilder!
1. Welcome to Paradisa! It's a magic castle in a magic world away from yours! You got kidnapped here and you're stuck until the castle takes you home or we find a way out ourselves!
2. Yes magic and sentient castles exist, for you skeptics out there. You get used to it!
3. Everyone is supposed to get a loss! It can be a memory, item or ability! Though I haven't found my loss yet so it's possible that some of us are just too amazing to get one heh heh heh.
4. The castle can give you most things you wish for! Though that doesn't include weapons or giant things or people. We're still working on if it's has biases in stuff like the best bread ever!
5. That room you probably woke up in? Is your room during your stay! If you didn't wake up in a room, look on the doors for a nameplate!
6. The kitchen is on the first floor! Though you can ask the ghost servants for food so I'm still not sure why you'd go all the way down there to get food, but there you go! The clinic's on the second floor! And there's a library...somewhere!
7. Sometimes the castle does crazy stuff! If a person is acting really weird, it's called a loss! I couldn't tell you why it's called that and I think it's really confusing, but when you're in Paradisa you do as Paradisans do! If we go to a different place, that's a world change!
8. No one really knows what we're doing here or why we were picked or why people show up when they do, but I'm sure there's theories abound. I think personally the castle has good tastes- there are a lot of pretty looking people here!
9. Death only lasts two weeks here, but I haven't seen it for myself yet. Kiiinda hoping it doesn't happen that often that I'd have to put it to the test.
10. When you get sent home, your memories get wiped! So don't be surprised if you show up here and there's some beautiful hunny demanding where you've been. Just count yourself lucky that some darling lady has missed you so! Unless of course, her way of missing you is to be violent when you show up again. Also, time works kinda funny here so don't be surprised if your buddy is from the future or the past. It happens!
Well...that's all I can think of so far and ten is a nice number to leave off! But if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask~!
[OOC: I'm...so sorry okay. SO SORRY]

Sure! What's your room?

[And a few minutes later, there's going to be a knock on your door]
no subject
Come on in!
[The door's unlocked and leads to a room that is.. surprisingly spartan. A bed, dresser and mirror with what looks like a little shrine next to it. There's a kitchenette in the corner, and that's where she's making her tea, but the room otherwise seems devoid of personal affects.]
no subject
Yo~
no subject
Hey! The tea's almost done -- there are a couple of chairs at the table here.
no subject
[He heads over to the chairs, slumping down into one]
So one person who could stop a war, and asking about them gets me invited for tea. That important, huh?
no subject
Follow so far?
[She smiles at him, sliding him a cup of tea.]
no subject
Yeah, I'm following.
no subject
But a hundred years ago, the Avatar disappeared. And the Fire Nation attacked. They wiped out the Air Nomads and started a war. About seven months before coming to Paradisa, my brother and I found the Avatar, frozen in ice -- he was just twelve. He still had a lot of learning to do.
no subject
[He tries to imagine him or Colette that young being sent on the Journey...that makes an already insane journey even more so.]
no subject
[A breath.]
Zuko chased us for a long time.. he's the prince of the Fire Nation, but he was exiled by his dad, the Fire Lord. He wanted to capture Aang to restore his honor. He got past that, eventually.. and he became a valuable ally. A friend.
-- he hasn't gotten there yet in Paradisa.
no subject
[Ugh ugh, he knew he shouldn't have asked. Of course it'd be something that would piss him off]
That's great that you were there to help out- but where were the adults? Were they really dumping all the responsibility of the world on a special twelve year old and his friends?
no subject
The adults of the water tribe were all at war for years. The Fire Nation killed mine and Sokka's mother when we were young, and our father took the men of the village to fight. Defend. Aang was an air nomad -- all of his people had been wiped out.
It was a war. We put ourselves into it. Most of the world assumed Aang was dead.. but we had no choice. Aang was the Avatar, Zelos.
no subject
Even if you had no choice, it doesn't mean I have to like it.
no subject
What else were we supposed to do, Zelos? Sit by and let the Fire Nation burn the world up?
no subject
[He glares down at his tea]
Stuff like that just pisses me off.
no subject
[He's not the only one staring at his tea -- though Katara is markedly more wistful.]
For the first time in a hundred years. And then I was brought here.
no subject
That sounds great, Ice Princess. Glad you guys could do it.
no subject
[She shuts her eyes.]
Aang is.. really special. Not just because he can control all of the elements -- but being the Avatar means that he's connected to the power and minds of his past lives, too.
[Katara shakes her head quickly.]
How's your tea?
no subject
It's fine, really. I was just overreacting to it, is all. No one likes hearing about kids fighting wars, you know how it is.
[...He's gonna make no comment to the second part since it really doesn't make him feel any better. ]
The tea? [...he forgot to drink it, so he'll take a sip] Very fine, but I expected as much~
no subject
[She clears her throat a little.]
Wow.. this was supposed to be happy and nostalgic, ha.
no subject
[What with FIGHTING A WAR AND EVERYTHING. He shifts a bit awkwardly. Maybe a tiny bit of him felt guilt, but how the hell else was he going to react? She's lucky he didn't flip the table]
...Sorry.
no subject
No, it's not your fault. I should have thought about it before I dumped all of this on you.
no subject
Yeah, maybe.
