So it would seem. It's very strange, having so many new students and it's not even the beginning of the year. Still, it isn't as if everyone is lying about it.

People are really into that, huh?

You really are new, aren't you? It's practically the lifeblood of the students. The houses get very competitive about it. Like how a muggle would get excited about football.

I was wondering what that house thing was about.

You'll get used to it in time. [a gentle smile] I imagine there is much you still need to grow used to.

[She taps the newspaper. Moving pictures in the papers are still new to him, too, aren't they?]

[He always thought the castle, with the wishes and ghost-maids, was the most magic he'd ever be around. Apparently that didn't even prepare him.]

I was hoping that was optional.
