Expedition Log 6

I'm heading to the shooting range. If anyone wants a crash course, a warm-up, or even contest, you're welcome to come along. I'll be in the lobby.

[And when you get to the lobby, there'll be a tall girl in odd boots with a messy ponytail waiting for you. At least she shouldn't be hard to spot. She looks like she's looking for someone.]

[There wasn't anyone else at the lobby, so Chell was pretty easy to spot. Lara gave a greeting nod her way]

[And Chell waved back.]

Hello! Shall we go and get started?

[lara_the_explorer]

It looks like nobody else is going. So, yeah. Let's get going.

[silentrunning]

[Chell follows. THIS is a skill she has wanted for a LONG time. She has no idea how to load, but at least, thanks to Ben she knows how to hold a gun properly.]

[lara_the_explorer]

[It didn't take a while until Lara and Chell made it to the shooting range]

Here we are.

[She puts the gun cases on a table and laid it out, giving Chell a wide variety of guns to try out]

Pick one you like. Or two if you want.

[silentrunning]

[And as instructed, Chell picks herself a handgun, a pistol in fact, the kind with a clip. Then she looked up expectantly at Lara.]

[OOC: Mun knows nothing about guns, so forgive me if I get terms wrong? Hey. Maybe I can learn too ha.]

[OOC: I like guns, so you're in luck(?) This is a handy diagram]

I assume you haven't held a gun before? That's the same look I gave my father when he taught me.

[Lara chuckled and walked towards Chell, holstering her handgun to teach Chell the basics]

First, don't point the gun at someone or yourself. Always point it at a safe direction and keep your finger off the trigger until you're aiming at something you're willing to destroy.

[Lara gently takes the gun and magazine from Chell's hands]

Okay, so this thing here is a magazine [She waved a the clip around to show Chell] You put this inside this magazine well just under the grip, and to release it, you push this button called a magazine catch or a magazine release. Then once you have your magazine in, you pull the slide and make sure there's a bullet in the chamber.

[Lara showed Chell the view where the newly loaded bullet was through the ejection port where the spent bullet casings are thrown out from]

And to push the slide forward and start firing, you pull this switch here with your thumb. It's called a slide stop or a slide lock... Do you follow so far?
