'Usually' doesn't help to counteract what you just said. [ She may know that people like to hurt each other and there are dangerous people here but it doesn't mean being reminded is good ]

No but do remember if they wanted to kill you they would have. By and large the residents are peaceful, except on occasion when they decide to act more like a teenager than their age. [Yes James insulting villains by calling them teenagers is a good idea.] And there are a number of people here who fight only for the well being of others, you need not fear anything.

Still not exactly helpful or reassuring; I'm trying not to think of these things.

And the more you deny their existence the more you will find that you can not escape it. Just accept such things, and you will find it easier as time goes on to deal with them then.
