1/003: THE PART WHERE HE TESTS YOU.
"Well, I did tell you did I not that I would contact you another time for some follow up's didn't I, love? Well, I know I didn't give you much time to recover, but that time is now! Go on, get your athletic wear, find your sweatpants, and we're going to go through something... a bit of an intense training. I hope you've been practicing! Cause, well I guess if you weren't... that's not good. Oh, well, I guess we'll just wing it then. Come on, meet me back at the staircase, wi-will ya?

"Does anyone know any quick tactics of... of proper... proper... s-social communication by any chance? Like... like how you're supposed to treat... treat people by any chance? In... common conversation?
I kinda need a quick, a quick bit of a rundown on that. Maybe, maybe a little practice? Y' know, being an AI and all, not really knowing how to be a... um... a um proper bloke is all. Not like I consider any of you humans to be proper. Just... just saying. There's there's this girl, and well... frankly I don't want to make a fool of myself. It'd be... be unfortunate if I really messed up. Not anything too grand or anything, obviously... but anything would be great."

[He nods.]
"But if that's not the case, then there is just one conclusion! The bloke must just have... a very deep rooted hatred for..."
[Wheatley?]
"...Science!"
[Don't incriminate your manliness, we saw what score you got on that manliness rating test.]
"But-but I'd take him on. No problem. I just... well, didn't want to hurt your friend iz'all."
no subject
Either way, don't worry about it too much. I'll make sure to figure it out! Because I definitely don't want you two fighting, so thanks for not taking him on.
no subject
[He seems to be reading something as they're walking. She'll follow him right out the castle]
"Say, Maya..."
[He looks at her.]
"Are you really just... just a normal human?"
[He asks that really hopefully, almost as if he's begging her to say "no!"]
no subject
[oh wait... riiiiiight. There's a moment of pause as she considers the question.........]
Well, I guess I'm not normal normal. I'm a spirit medium! But that's not really a weird thing, I don't think it counts.
no subject
[He looks so surprised, his glasses almost fall off his face, he suddenly steps in front of her, stopping her from walking and placed his hands on her shoulders]
"Oh thank god- I think. Wh-what-why didn't you tell me this before? Keeping secrets from me love? But-but anyway, Love- this- this is great. For you at least but- haha, tell me more about this?... this thing? Spirit mediums?"
[Good news! He's not going to kill you.]
no subject
[But his surprise is nice! and kind of exciting, normally people seem more unnerved by it than anything.]
Pretty much, all the women of my clan have the ability to call the spirits of the dead, and kind of... give them a body to use for a little while. We get knocked out in the process, but people get to talk to their dead loved ones. That's the basics of it, anyway.
[whoo, point for Maya!]
no subject
[He pats her shoulder, and then continues to walk.]
"It's impressive. Being able to speak for the dead. A little eerie. A liiiiiiittle creepy, yeah, but still.. nice. I can't think of anyone I'd want to talk to- well! Oh! Maybe the guys who built me. I'd want to talk to them, give them a piece of my mind."
[As they're walking, they finally reach a field. It's a nice looking place. Really pleasant, and now that it's getting warmer it's peaceful seeming too. Birds, sunshine, all of that.]
"Wait, It's a bit wrong that you can't actually communicate with the the dead directly if you get knocked out. S'there anyone you'd want to speak to? A loved one, one of those... blood relations...?"
no subject
What? It's neither creepy nor eerie! [slipping in those fancy terms to make her point] And I guess that's kind of normal, not everyone has someone they want to talk to. But we're here for the people who do want to!
Huh? Oh... [she was busy looking at the gorgeous field in a :D like-manner, and that smile drops a little bit at his question]
Yeah, I guess. But I couldn't talk to them, I'd have to go to another medium for that.
no subject
"Okay... okay.... uh..."
[Think...]
"Well... well you're doing something great now. Helping everyone out to get out of this castle. Not everyone is capable of that, remember that. I'm sure whoever they are would be really proud...really."
[Um. Okay. He hoped that worked.
As they continue to walk, they would eventually encounter something that looked like an elaborately placed obstacle course. It actually looked... pretty impressive. When they reached it, He nodded, and began to remove his coat, and his shoes.]
"Well... Are- are you ready?"
no subject
Thanks Wheatley... You're a really nice guy.
[now that they've talked about sappy stuff, she looks over ot see.... woooooooah! It looks like a playground almost, really exciting! When she sees what Whatley is doing, she hurries and takes off her own shoes and kicks them to the side]
Are you going to run it with me? [she looks a bit surprised, she thought he would be doing... sciency-things like taking notes]
no subject
"Weeeeeeell, yes and no. You see, in order for me to take notes on you, I'll have to keep up, now won't I? Relax, I used to do this all the time!Following test subjects, I mean. You can call me a professional if you want, cause... because well, I won't mind. The plan is, we'll see what you can do, and move on from there! This is just... just the beginning love. Easy stuff, so don't get too excited."
[He removes his glasses, and cleans them off his tie.]
"Y-You can stretch if you want. Uhhh... Prepare yourself. Just tell me when you're ready."
no subject
[stretch, huh? she raises her arms and leans back and forth, then she'll do that thing where she pulls up her foot behind her, and streeeetches her legs. Once that's done she jumps in the air twice, and after a moment's pause she takes off her purple jacket thing]
Okay, I think I'm ready!
no subject
[When she says that, he laughs a little, and nods. As she is stretching, he would be scribbling little notes and observing her. Right as she's about to finished, he would set the clipboard down, pull out a stopwatch from his pocket, and press a few buttons beforehand.]
"Good. You'll pass the obstacle course pretty straight forward, love. No confusion here. Unless there is confusion, then... well, that's actually a bit of a problem. Okay, let's say this, if- if you're confused at any point of the test- just-just keep going on. And if you can't keep going on, you can just... uh... jump in place. Yeah that's it, just-just give me a few jumps, and I'll know for sure, that you have a problem. That's it- ohohoho! Wait! If you get injured- well, just... well don't move I guess because you really won't be able to, but I would appreciate it greatly if you just didn't get injured."
no subject
......
Um! But if I'm just jumping in front of something because I'm trying to reach something high, I'll let you know! Just so you don't think I'm confused.
{and with a thumbs up, she dashes first towards the rows of beams. She figures she's supposed to dash on top of them, so she leaps on top of the first one (since she's already running, it's not too hard) and jumps from beam to beam. She's doing good, until she gets to the fourth beam, then she slips forward. But since it's not too high, just hoists herself up to the next one as quickly as she can manage and keeps hopping. After jumping off the last one she gives a grin and sizes up the ladder thing ahead of her before running over to that]
no subject
"G-good. You're doing good! Not bad for your first time, love! Be-be sure to um... pace yourself. Don't tire yourself out too quickly."
[He's seen worse. Alot worse. He's almost proud of himself for picking out a good one. He can only hope that she's been practicing her jumps. The next one was a ladder with a pretty high jump at the end.]
"K-keep going love! I'm right behind you! B-but don't look! Don't-don't want you to trip over something! Just... just keep going!"
no subject
Pumped, she opens her eyes again, looks for the next obstacle, and rounds the corner. She slows down to a jog as she looks back at Wheatley]
Which beam do I run on?
Ill have it so that parenthesis are what he's saying under his breath. :U
"D-don't slow down! You're being timed. And... uh... how about you just choose? That's it, you...[pause to breathe] choose!(Oh god)[huff]"
[Instead of following her, he sort've cuts the course, waiting for her at the next obstacle. The Jungle gym. It'll give him time... to breathe...]
Hehe, good to know :') Poor Wheatley...
Okay, got it! [she chooses, huh? Well, luckily spirit medium training involves stuff like standing on a block of ice, so her balance ins't bad... but she still slows down a bit as she gets up on the pole, and teeters forward. She tries not to loose her speed too much, but you can see she's concentrating by the fact that her tongue is sticking out just a little bit. Once she reaches the end she celebrates by jumping off the end instead of getting off carefully, and takes a second to breathe before jogging over to the next thing...
Monkey bars? Well, she guesses that's what they're for. So she jumps up and grabs hold of the first bar. Sadly... upper body strength is not her forte (she has the twiggiest arms ever) so there's a minute as she fails around, but once she's got herself swinging forward, she lets momentum carry her from bar to bar
Whooooosh!] This one's a little harder! Um- [alsdhga breath] If you're taking notes on that kind of thing...
This was his idea. xD
[He was totally distracted.
Wheatley scribbles down something, and gradually walks beside her as she swings around. While they didn't do a whole ton of benefit for her time, he was more relieved that he could cover up his fitness level.]
"We'll work on your arms later love. You're a better jumper! Phenomenal. And-and you wanna know something else? You learn quick- so, so there you go. Give yourself... a... hm, a month and you'd be unstoppable. In the... uh, jumping sense, at least. I don't know about... about well, the other things."
[Good. Positive reinforcement. He hoped at least it was working. After the monkey bars, there was another ladder, this time with a much MUCH higher jump.]
no subject
Whoo!
[poof, she hits the ground and she's going for the next part (It's a small ramp thing, and then a box to jump off of, right?]
This second half looks a little easier!
no subject
"Think of it as your victory finish love! You-you work hard in the first part and by the end you're... you're cruising. On cruise control. Just... just going through like you're in a cruise."
[He glanced at his stopwatch.]
"Though you've gotta push yourself love! You- you gotta feel the... feel the pain! Grrrrgh! Gogogogo! Top notch performance love, top notch at all times!"
no subject
Then she gets down on her hands and knees to crawl through that little door thing... pops up, and runs around the second wall, over the stairs, hop hop hopping through the tires... The fact that she's trying to push through the ending and get a good time is showing, aaaaaaaand]
Finish! [whooooo, she cheers when she reaches the end, and promptly flops down on the ground in celebration]
no subject
[Wheatley stumbles, trying to keep on his feet as he trailed after Maya. SO... UNFIT. When she flops to the ground, he manages to barely step a few more steps, and plops onto the ground beside her. Then. It occurs to him. The test. Finished. His first obstacle test.]
"HNNNNNGH..."
[He suddenly spazzes out in a silly excitement as he's on the ground. He rolls onto his back, and tries to sit up, but cant muster up enough strength to pull himself up]
"You... oh... yes. Alright... yes. That's... that's good. That IS goooooooood. You- you did a good job. Better than I thought, phenomenal...In fact, you don't only have the qualities of a good jumper... you... you've got de-determination... and-"
[He looks at her for a moment. THERE IS A DRAMATIC PAUSE. He suddenly looks away, when he realizes that he had been staring.]
"Just...Phenomenal, love.
[He suddenly just closes his eyes, trying to catch his breath.]
"H...How- how are you holding up? Good I hope, no injuries. No accidents. A success. Yes...Yeah, that's right."
no subject
And then she just starts giggling uncontrollably. The adrenaline that comes with pushing yourself and exercising makes his little outburst ten times funnier. She can hear that he's talking again, so she tries really hard to make herself stop laughing... and kind of succeeds. But little giggle fits keep bursting through.
When he asks how she's holding up she holds up her arm and makes a thumbs up. There's a little 'w-whew' noise as she tries to get the laughter under control, and she wipes at her eyes with her other hand]
Yep, a-okay! I'm just tired, I haven't done any training like that in a really long time! [aaand her arm flops back down in the grass. Wheeew, okay, giggling under control]
But that was a really neat obstacle course! How did you build all of that?
If I laay heere. If I just laaay here. Will you lie with me and just forget the worrrrldd. LMFAO.
[He points to his head. Haha, brainpower. He'll just take the credit for himself and pretend that he had constructed this all from his mind, not like he took reference to a series of other obstacle courses.]
"Welllll....Get used to it. It'll make you much ...ummm, stronger, which-which is what you need. Hehe... consider it as... raising your durability and endurance as well. I've gotta say...maybe, even though, I have... my-my... uh, intellect, maybe I should be running... that... um, course too. "
[He says that a little embarrassed. Turning his head, he removed his glasses and looked back at her from ]
"W-Was it difficult? Maybe?"
[He sounds hopeful that he created something difficult.]
asdghak haha :')
