So I guess there a lot of people here from Earth - or different versions of Earth - and it got me curious. See...and this might sound kind of wild, but, for the last year or so I've been traveling between parallel version of Earth. My friends and I call it sliding. There's hundreds or maybe even thousands of parallel worlds, but what if I've been to some of yours and didn't even know it. Of course, it might be kind of hard to tell, since we were kind of limited to Los Angeles and San Francisco, but it's worth a shot. I like hearing about it anyway.

You'd be surprised how different Earths can be. Sometimes the differences can be small.

New York City, 2556. We have a representative democracy - being American's not nearly as important as being a native of Earth, and there's a United Nations of planets. The economy's--I don't know, rich are rich and poor are poor? But everyone's got a right to a free public education, and even a nobody can grow up to see the stars if they join the military. Recent notable events include the Covenant War which has been going on for the past thirty years or so, though apparently they make peace next year. The unique part would have to be that we were attacked by aliens about thirty years ago. Casualties are pretty damn high, but we never give up. You know us.

But sorry, never met a Quinn Mallory before. Nice name, though.

But...wow...I've never been to any place like that. Of course, for me it's always the 90's.

So, these aliens, what are they like?

- I was born in a village called Mould-on-the-Wold; however I spent most of my youth in Godric's Hollow, which is another village located in the West Country in England.

- I do not believe governments change overly much as long as they are run by ambitious people. When I became one of the dearly departed, the government so many relied upon was giving in to some rather nasty bullies.

We could almost be from the same Earth, though it's hard to tell, since I'm from a few years ahead of you, but I remember all of that.

1.) I'm from Maple Valley in Washington State.
2.) It was the year 2011 when I first came here, and I suppose, technically, it will be 2012 when I return, but I'm not on Earth anymore, so I'm not sure if it matters.
3.) As far as I know it's the same as it ever was, nothing really unusual. Though if you were to ask my friends from home, I'm sure they could delve into all the apparent conspiracies brewing. :B
4.) Again, I can't imagine it'd be very different.
5.) Now this is a little trickier! For the most part it's as modern as what you can find in the castle, but there were some experimental technologies. Unfortunately, they served little purpose in everyday life. Sigh.
6.) November 11th is the most recent I can think of. It was a big worldwide rebranding for CrockerCorp! Though I'm not partial to the design.
7.) Not really, except perhaps that CrockerCorp is not as influential in other places as it is where I'm from. I'll see if my friend Roxy can answer these questions, she could probably give you a better idea of that.

As for that last bit, I can't say that I've ever met anyone named Quinn Mallory. Is that your name?

So what's the deal with CrockerCorp? What do they do?

[She laughs, a bit awkwardly] No, it's not. Quinn is the name of my friend and, also apparently my loss? I can remember everything about him but what he looks like.

- Modern. We had advanced genetic technology, as well as mechanical and weapon based.

- After the great War, we completely decimated most of District 13. In our war, the Capital firebombed all of District 12. You can see it clearly from the sky.

- A mess, as usual. George W. Bush just started his second term which surprised a lot of people. We're at war, though most people really don't seem to know why. People just keep talking about 9/11 like it explains everything.
- Depends who you talk to. Some people say we're in a recession, some people say we're doing pretty well. Personally I'm more inclined to say somewhere in the middle, but I'm not an expert.
- Getting too technical for our own goods, I think. The internet is expanding faster than anyone can keep track of, cell phones are getting smaller, computers are getting smarter... personally I still prefer libraries and maps.
- Canada approved same sex marriage. The first African American woman was appointed Secretary of State. The Patriots won the Super Bowl, the entire NHL season was canceled. Japan was hit by their biggest earthquake in 100 years... oh and there's a new Pope.
- There's a lot that can be said to be unique in every world. In mine I could easily say that it's the fact that there's magic and that magical beings exist. Of course if you talk to someone from outside the magical community of my world they wouldn't know anything about any of that. It's all a matter of perspective, really.

And I'm sorry but I have never met someone by that name.

I don't know? A normal government? Democracy and congress and all that. I slept through most of Civics class. Though the Guys in White are creeps.

I'm sixteen. Why would I know?

Depends. You talking about normal technology or ghost technology? Cause if you're talking normal tech, I guess I could say that the last major OS that came out was Portals XL.

What is a recent or especially notable event in history?
I guess that time the whole town got sucked into an alternate dimension was kind of a big deal. That was just last year.

Is there anything else unique about your Earth that you can think of?
The Ghost Zone? Ive never heard of any other worlds that had that.

Constitutional monarchy. We still have an emperor, but he mostly sticks to diplomacy and ceremony and stuff like that. Everything else is handled by the Prime Minister and the Diet

Not as good as it used to be, to be honest. It's not bad, but the stocks and banks took a big dive a few years back. I was just a kid when that happened, though, so I don't know much about it.

Pretty good, I guess. We have computers and electricity and all of that, but no crazy science-fiction stuff. Well, not unless you think space shuttles and space stations are crazy, but only scientists and astronauts go up there.

A few years ago, there was this crazy cult that attacked the subways with poison gas. About eight people died, but a lot of people were sick or injured, too. It was pretty awful - crimes like that just don't happen here.

Not that I can think of, but I guess that depends on what other Earths are like.

I am not from Earth, but I will answer as best I can...

1. Again, not from Earth- I grew up on a planet called Osiris and lived there for most of my life.
2. 2517.
3. There is a central government called the Alliance- the Allied Union of Planets. Some planets are not entirely under their control, though.
4. Varies. The core planets- those closer to our solar system's sun- tend to be a lot more rich and prosperous, while the border planets are poorer.
5. Space travel is everyday, we can transform planets and moons into being habitable, clean energy is much more viable, there have been untold advances in medical technology from this day and age...
6. A civil war. The rebels lost, at great cost.
7. Not that I haven't already described.
