So I guess there a lot of people here from Earth - or different versions of Earth - and it got me curious. See...and this might sound kind of wild, but, for the last year or so I've been traveling between parallel version of Earth. My friends and I call it sliding. There's hundreds or maybe even thousands of parallel worlds, but what if I've been to some of yours and didn't even know it. Of course, it might be kind of hard to tell, since we were kind of limited to Los Angeles and San Francisco, but it's worth a shot. I like hearing about it anyway.

There's one last question, and it's a bit more...specific to me...but I have to ask. I guess it's the real reason for all this. But, well, sometimes my friends and I run into parallel versions of ourselves. Doubles. And if there's one of for every world, maybe you guys have one too.

1.) I'm from Maple Valley in Washington State.
2.) It was the year 2011 when I first came here, and I suppose, technically, it will be 2012 when I return, but I'm not on Earth anymore, so I'm not sure if it matters.
3.) As far as I know it's the same as it ever was, nothing really unusual. Though if you were to ask my friends from home, I'm sure they could delve into all the apparent conspiracies brewing. :B
4.) Again, I can't imagine it'd be very different.
5.) Now this is a little trickier! For the most part it's as modern as what you can find in the castle, but there were some experimental technologies. Unfortunately, they served little purpose in everyday life. Sigh.
6.) November 11th is the most recent I can think of. It was a big worldwide rebranding for CrockerCorp! Though I'm not partial to the design.
7.) Not really, except perhaps that CrockerCorp is not as influential in other places as it is where I'm from. I'll see if my friend Roxy can answer these questions, she could probably give you a better idea of that.

As for that last bit, I can't say that I've ever met anyone named Quinn Mallory. Is that your name?

So what's the deal with CrockerCorp? What do they do?

[She laughs, a bit awkwardly] No, it's not. Quinn is the name of my friend and, also apparently my loss? I can remember everything about him but what he looks like.

You don't happen to have a company called Betty Crocker where you're from, do you?
That's what it is.

Oh! I'm awfully sorry to hear that.
I couldn't imagine having a person be my loss. That's awful.

Yes, we have that. They make cake mixes and things, right?

Quinn is pretty much my best friend.

That's the one! Though it does a bit more than that where I'm from.
I see! Then it's awfully nice to meet you, Wade, and I hope perhaps that Quinn might turn up for you someday.

I kind of hope so to. I really miss him, even if I can't picture him. But at the same time I'm afraid to find out if he does, because I wouldn't even recognize him. Talk about awkward.

Like the experimental technologies I mentioned! And plenty of baking innovations, computing things, the list goes on!

But it's very likely he could remember you, couldn't he? I mean, the chance of him having his memory of what you look like as a loss is very slim. They can be any number of things, and I'm sure he'd track you down in no time.

So you said they're pretty influential - how does a company that starts off in baked goods get into all that stuff?

I bet he would. Very little stands in his way when he's determined.

Through hard work and stellar sales, of course! You need the capital and the support of your customers before you can branch off into new things.
