[This evening, Clem is outside, a small puppy on the end of a pink leash beside her. It currently seems to be happier rolling around in the grass rather than listening to the little girl trying to get it to do a trick.]

Sit. Siiiiiit. See, like this. [She tries to push the puppy's rump down, but it thinks it's playtime and rolls around some more. It gets Clem to laugh.]

No, no... [Sigh.] Okay, maybe we'll play for a little bit. It's time for a break, anyway.

[Honestly, this isn't even slightly surprising. Of course Clementine has a puppy, of course she could talk Lee into this. Of course the leash is pink, the whole image is just too adorable.

It's nice to see, after everything. No guns, no makeshift dumpster walls, just a little girl playing with her puppy and laughing. Normal. It's good.]

Hey there. How's the training going?

Cute dog, kiddo. [Alright, this is too sweet. Old man's gotta stop and comment.] Didn't know you had one.

[Ben stops in passing, smiling a little at the sight]

So you convinced him to get one, huh?

[he laughs] How's it going, Clementine?

[Lee had told her in advance about the dog. It's fitting, in an upside-down way. More points in Clem's corner.]

Cute. [Ace grins, squatting down a comfortable distance away so that both kid and puppy aren't intimidated by OMG Stranger Danger. he reaches into his pocket and comes up with a handful of kibble]

Good choice for a first pet. He'll learn fast.

[Chell wanders outside, intent upon walking her own dog... Her dog notices Clem and the puppy and his tail, or rather his whole butt instantly starts wagging and he lets out a friendly yip. Chell looks around and notices them too.]

Hey Clementine!

[She greets the girl with a smile.]

I see you got a new friend! What's his/her name? I'm guessing her by the color of the leash?

[Tess walks by with a bag of cherry tomatoes, which she eats like grapes, popping them whole into her mouth. They're delicious. She gives the girl and the dog a brief glance and keeps going on her way, and then stops.

She doesn't like kids and she doesn't particularly like dogs. She hasn't known a dog she's liked in decades. But she is an adult who is wary of the sun going down, and doubly wary of little children out alone, much less alone when the sun is about to set.

Tess doesn't even try to soften her usual tone.]

Hey. You supposed to be out here alone, hon?

[Tim is out on a walk with one Mr. Ace; the bestest dog ever. Batgirls everywhere envy how loved he is.

Ace's ears perk up and his tail starts to wag when he spots the puppy. Ace gives a sharp pull on his harness, whimpering a couple of times, before falling back in line after some coaxing from Tim.]
