I know Thanksgiving hasn't quite come and gone yet, but Christmas is less than a month away, friends.

How about we have an "ugly Christmas sweater" party some time next month? We could have a competition for whoever finds the most horrendous sweater, and have egg nog (both normal and spiked; we might have some children attending, after all) and cookies and leftover turkey sandwiches if it's close enough to Thanksgiving...

Of course, an ugly sweater would not be required to attend, but where's the fun in that?

I have no intention of even trying to celebrate Christmas, so a Christmas sweater is right on the list of Things I Never Need or Want.

Secret ballot could work. Or if there's enough drinks, I guess we could figure out which one still looks ugly at the end of the night. But it is pretty subjective.

If we're all drunk enough, I'm sure it'll turn into which one is most hilarious. Hey- I kinda like that better.

Ah.. [she says like she's still thinking, trying to decide] -- what the hell, yeah, count me in. [She's spent the majority of holidays in her life alone, but this year she's going to make sure to do something with Henry, and spending some time at a party wouldn't kill her.] Ugly sweaters and egg nog -- sounds like a hilarious combination. [Which she doesn't say sarcastically; it does sound entertaining.]

Sweet. And the egg nog drowns out the shame of wearing a sweater with gaudy decorations and puff balls and stuff in public.

Hey, whatever works, right? Enough egg nog and I might be convinced that the wearing of an ugly sweater with the tackiest designs seen on an article of clothing and out in public is the most shameful thing I've ever done.

Well, for some people. Everyone has their own traditions.

I always make sure to spend it with my family, if I can. That's the most important part. Some families have a special dinner they like to eat every year. Some always open presents at a certain time. Things like that.

[Sugar thinks that over for a moment. Family... well, she has her mother, but she won't be able to see her until her season fairy training is over.]

But...what if your family is far away? What do you do then?

Well then, gather up the friends you've made here. That's what I'm doing, since my mom and my daughter are still back home.
